Astralis coach Danny "⁠zonic⁠" Sørensen has announced that the English translation of his autobiography is now available worldwide.

In the book "ZONIC - The Astralis Story", originally released in Danish in November 2019, zonic discusses “esports’ incredible journey from dingy basements to sold-out arenas" in collaboration with writing partner Markus Bernsen.

The 222-page book provides a comprehensive look into Astralis’ journey to becoming the most successful Counter-Strike team of all time and the strenuous path zonic endured to get to the position he currently finds himself in as one of the greatest minds in the game.

zonic's book can now be purchased in English

The 33-year-old, who has led Astralis to win an array of trophies since 2016, also delves deep into his upbringing and his first steps in the esports world, with a focused comparison to the drastic changes in mental and physical care for players, with the likes of psychologists, dietitians and physiotherapists all involved in today's professional teams.

Below you can find a segment from chapter five describing zonic's first experience with Counter-Strike:

"I realise right away that it's one of the most intense games ever. Staying alive takes mental strength and complete control of the mouse and keyboard.

"I struggled at first, and usually get gunned down in the first minute. The mouse is no problem, but the keys are a different matter, and I stagger around the map like a bull in a china shop. I keep getting taken out by grenades and long shots. Often, I don't even see where they come from until it's too late. And when I do lock my sights onto an opponent, I only ever hit them with two bullets before the recoil sends the rest of the rounds up into the air. My mates make fun of me as I find myself lifeless on the floor for the tenth time in quick succession.

"Danny, what are you lying down for?"

"It's no fun being shot over and over again. Being knifed and blown up. Again and again and again."

The point of what? The narrative he makes in the book, which you'll know if you read the article, is the difference between his career as a 1.6 player and the transition into the huge scope of CS:GO and the growth of the sport in general. So the point of him waiting until he retired as coach is completely moot, so the point is stupid.

zonic is the kind of guy that you not really talk about to much. You hear Astralis, you see Xyp9x, dupreeh, device, but defienietly it's not zonic who comes to mind first. Overall the coach role is pretty underated in current CS:GO community. Ppl understimate the importance of that role for the team. I think it's good to read that book to understand how important the role is.

I bought it and already finished it. To be honest i expected more behind the scenes. It has 222 pages and 60 of them is so boring,about his early years when he played Command Conquer or whatever,he was doing graffiti etc....like 100 pages are about absolutely nothing interesting,just fill up. Im a bit dissapointed,i was really curious about Astralis and i expected lot of behind the scenes

Well the book is clearly for people that are not necessarily common with CS, so kinda disappointed in a lot of aspects but well, I'm still glad to learn more about one of the most passionate guys in CS and eSports in general. It's also kinda funny how chauvinistic zonic actually is, love the guy even more.
