G2 cruise past fnatic; GODSENT edge out mousesports in cs_summit 6

cs_summit 6 Europe kicked off with two very different matches, a dominant G2 victory over fnatic and a nail-biting win for GODSENT over MOUZ.

fnatic enter the tournament in poor form, after disappointing finishes in DreamHack Masters Spring, BLAST Premier Spring Showdown, and most importantly, ESL One: Road to Rio - the first Regional Major Ranking event. In desperate need of Major Ranking points, fnatic managed to fight through the qualifier, but looked flat in the opening game of cs_summit 6, losing 2-0 to G2. MOUZ, in a similar situation to fnatic regarding recent results, but up a stronger fight but against a much lower-ranked team, GODSENT (#26), with the final score being the same: 2-0.

G2 kicked off the series with a dominant T-side on Nuke, their map pick, with the only scary part being a four-round streak early on where fnatic clutched their way to success. The rest of the half was one-sided, seeing G2 go up 10-5 before the switch. fnatic secured pistol, but couldn't convert the 3-0 as Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač wreaked havoc with a saved Krieg, seeing G2 go back to winning ways. In the second half, Kenny "kennyS" Schrub was again on the AWP and continued his strong play (14-7), fnatic replied with one, but the French-Serbian side went on to close out Nuke 16-8 after a huNter- 1v3.

G2 are off to a good start in the Regional Major Ranking tournament

kennyS brought over his from Nuke to Train, landing three crisp USP-s headshots to get the ball rolling early for G2. The French-Serbian squad went on a streak from the start, with Audric "JACKZ" Jug's quad-kill making it 7-0, and their tally reaching 10 before fnatic got on the board with a fast A hit. The Swedes managed to salvage the half after that, 11-4, but even with the second pistol going their way, the threat for G2 was never really there. The first buy went the way of Nemanja "nexa" Isaković's men and they cruised to the 16-7 victory, 2-0 for the series.

GODSENT won the two opening rounds and a Asger "Farlig" Jensen 1v2 clutch early into Dust2, MOUZ' pick, but it was Finn "karrigan" Andersen's men that took the lead thanks to strong rifle round plays. Jesse "zehN" Linjala's 1v1 and two 3K holds from Martin "STYKO" Styk allowed GODSENT to recover in the second part of the half, finishing it 9-6 ahead. With the second pistol won and followups converted, GODSENT went up 12-6, but MOUZ didn't falter. They again looked dominant in rifle rounds, pulling it back to 15-13, only to let the last two rounds slip. GODSENT edged into overtime and then closed out the map 19-17 after karrigan self-immolated in a 3v2 afterplant on B.

On Vertigo, GODSENT were off to a great start, securing a 6-2 lead on the offensive side of their map pick. Then, multikills from Özgür "woxic" Eker and Robin "ropz" Kool saw MOUZ pull back on the defense, finishing 9-6 behind. The B split worked out for them on the pistol, but MOUZ fumbled against the force buy, allowing GODSENT to take control of proceedings. Kevin "kRYSTAL" Amend's squad was on the verge of economic demise a couple of times in the half, but managed to stay afloat, winning key rounds every time to reach a 14-8 lead. David "frozen" Čerňanský then won two rounds in a row for MOUZ, getting entries and multikills, but two eco losses brought Vertigo to a conclusion, 16-13 in favor of GODSENT.

Honestly if I’m being honest chrisJ or Frozen have to go. Not living up to the potential.

Well ChrisJ should really consider retirement after the Major (if we even make it that far), but putting Frozen in that list doesn't make any sense.

bruh, you gotta support your team in all situations, I remember supportimg g2 back when they were ao so inconsistent with nbk apex and after that even with shox and lucky. Dont worry mouz will be back to their form b4 major, and you will be proud being their fan. They have potential and I wouldve been their fan, if I didnt realize that there was a guy named kenny in g2 when I started cs XD

What happened with fnatic and mouz? I can't believe that that teams with top IGLs and top players which was the most consistent teams in the world (especially fnatic) can degrade so fast from tier1 to tier2-3 level.

Karrigan , he isn't a consistant IGL.Each team under him had a honey moon period for certain amount of time and than just went downhill after that. I'd go -chrisJ first tho , maybe a better fragger instead of him could fix the problem.

Were fnatic hurt that bad by the kreig nerf or have they just been on cruise control after winning EPL 11? It’s like 2018 for them all over again.

But Brollan (who was the SG abuser) now fnatcs's best player. Or you're thinking that flusha, KRIMZ and JW, who was good players FOR YEARS without SG dergared because of that???

They were relying a lot on Brollan and the Krieg nerf killed him. But the fact that none of the other player such as Krimz and flusha can step up is problematic as well.

G2 is a good team, but still I don't think they deserve to be no.1. fnatic can be solid at this TOP 6-10 level, but I don't think they will go higher with this roster again. Impressive that GODSENT can win even to they are playing 4vs5, overall they could be decent but not with BOT kRYSTAL. mousesports plays 4vs5 aswell, and overall their structure is really bad, they need to get rid of chrisJ and find a new IGL aswell.
