BIG sweep FaZe; OG beat Heretics in cs_summit 6 Europe Group D

BIG defeated FaZe 2-0 (Mirage 16-10, Nuke 16-12) in their cs_summit 6 Group D opener, while OG bested Heretics in three maps (Inferno 16-3, Nuke 11-16, Mirage 16-3).

BIG beat FaZe twice during DreamHack Masters Spring, with 2-0 scorelines. This time around, they were once again able to sweep the European combine in their cs_summit 6 Europe Group D opening match to secure a spot in the group’s winners’ match, where they will face off against OG, who beat Heretics 2-1 in their first match of the Regional Major Ranking tournament.

FaZe won a 5vs5 retake on the B site of Mirage with enough time to defuse to take the lead, but another B hit with a triple by Nils "k1to" Gruhne with an AK tied it right back up. BIG were able to plant on B again for a third time, but the site was retaken and the bomb defused. Ismailcan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş downed two players with a Galil and two more with an AWP in the fifth round to make it 2-3. The match stayed close early on as BIG took a 5-4 lead, and although the Germans were able to go up 8-4, FaZe kept it close to stay within one at the half.

BIG secured the second pistol round to increase their lead to 10-7 before the first gun round, which they lost. Ultimately, however, BIG set the pace on the defense to close the map out 16-10 and take the lead going into their pick.

BIG will face OG in the Group D winners’ match

BIG won the T-side pistol round on Nuke, going on to take a 4-0 lead before a Nikola "NiKo" Kovač and Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras downed all of the attacking team to get on the board, putting FaZe back on a path to a 4-4 tie. The match then went neck-and-neck as the teams were tied ahead of the last round of the half, which BIG was able to take thanks to a quad-kill by Tizian "tiziaN" Feldbusch.

A successful 3vs3 retake in the second pistol round kept BIG in the lead, as the German squad went up 11-7 ahead of the first gun round. A 1vs2 situation resolved by XANTARES made it 12-7, and although FaZe broke the defenders’ economy to make a last push, BIG finally closed out the map 16-12 to secure the 2-0 victory.

OG took the lead on the CT side of Inferno with doubles by Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså and Issa "ISSAA" Murad in the first pistol round. Following the anti-eco, they were able to go 3-0 against guns. After two more solid defenses OG extended their lead to 5-0. It was finally on a pistol buy towards A in the seventh round that Heretics got on the board, but they were unable to follow it up. OG then pushed Heretics around during the rest of the half, giving up only one more round and hitting match point after winning the second pistol round before closing the map out 16-3.

OG dominated on Mirage to close the series against Heretics

OG won the attacking side pistol round on Nuke to kick the second map off, cleanly taking the anti-forcebuy. After the anti-eco, OG extended their lead to 4-0 against a full-buy with a fast round down secret into the B bomb site. The second map in the series started to look like the first as the European combine piled on the rounds. Heretics were able to sprinkle a few rounds in before taking the last three to make it 6-9.

Heretics then tied it up after the second pistol round, 9-9. Despite losing against OG’s first buy, the French squad kept setting the pace on the attack, retaking the lead and inching their way to match point, which they reached and converted on to make it 16-11.

OG were once again leading early in the third map, Mirage, going up 4-0 on the attacking side before Heretics could steal a forcebuy with doubles by Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey and Alexandre "xms" Forté. Heretics once again found themselves in a hole, however, as OG took another 9-3 lead, eventually stretching it to 12-3 at the half. Taking the second pistol round, OG cruised to the finish line, 16-3.

BIG didn't attend ESL Road to rio, they were not in previouse major which means they have 0 RMR points and after this event there will be one more RMR tournament which means even 2 top 8 wont guarantee them a spot at next major, max it might guarantee is contender spot which is like play ins that were played after minor.

BIG is insane. I think it's just a matter of time before they will fight for the biggest tittles. OG is looking really good. FaZe can be solid at this TOP 5 level, but I don't think they will be no.1 with this roster. Heretics lacks some good supportive player, and overall they are really bad team, their results are not bad but look who they play against : S2V, Sprout, AGO it's not a success to beat such teams. Really bad team overall.

That's the not what a sweep is. A sweep is winning a series without giving up a map. Doesn't matter if it's 4x 16:00 or 2x 16:14. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitewash_(sport..

The term sweep comes from sports which have multiple games in one series between two teams They won 2 maps to 0 so yes, that is a sweep. It has nothing to do with RD

What u bonobos who are saying that being onliner is not a good justification, to decide which is the better team are forgerting, is the fact that LAN puts a lot more pressure on each individual and that can and will impact a lot on individual performances, which then yes, it shows who is the better team in terms of maturity, not skillwise (as it might tend to look like what you are comparing between the teams).
