gla1ve: "I won't be playing ESL One Cologne"

Lukas "⁠gla1ve⁠" Rossander has announced that he will not play at the upcoming ESL One Cologne, despite looking forward to making a comeback.

gla1ve, who has been out of Astralis' active roster since taking medical leave in May, has announced he is looking forward to making a comeback, but that he will take his time and not compete at the upcoming ESL One Cologne Europe, which will take place online on August 18-30.

gla1ve says he won't be back in time for ESL One Cologne

gla1ve's statement comes after a report by sport.tv2.dk released this morning mentions that gla1ve has been signed up as a backup for ESL One Cologne along with Andreas "⁠Xyp9x⁠" Højsleth, who has also been on leave from the team since late May, filling the two substitute slots allotted to competing teams.

With gla1ve coming out and stating that he is not yet ready to return to the server, Astralis are expected to play ESL One Cologne with the lineup that includes Patrick "⁠es3tag⁠" Hansen, who joined the team as a free agent after his contract with HEROIC expired, and Lucas "⁠Bubzkji⁠" Andersen, the 22-year-old former MAD Lions player that joined the squad a week ago when Jakob "⁠JUGi⁠" Hansen was let go from the roster, as well as longtime core members Nicolai "⁠device⁠" Reedtz, Peter "⁠dupreeh⁠" Rasmussen and Emil "⁠Magisk⁠" Reif.

bubzkji is good. he was playing well with mad lions and if he can adapt into the astralis team. he might be filling the void of missing xyp3x. idk how good es3tag is, but if glave returns 100% they are #1 again. there is no other team that plays stable cs rn. without online BIG atm. they really tryhard to win every game. other teams playing like mmmh it is how it is.

Bubzkji was great in Mad Lions when Hunden coordinated the aggression as it shrinks the opponents map control. However it's not to much benefit if it's one guy doing it alone (bubzkji after acilion took over). Either bubzkji manages to reinvent himself as a player and adapts to Astralis' heavy default playstyle or he will be out on deep waters. Even in Fragsters he wasn't a star player and was only the 3rd best player after stavn and refrezh due to torben and dragonfly being complete bots. Time will tell if he manages to play default aswell as he plays aggressive
