G2 trounce MIBR in ESL One Cologne Europe

MIBR started their European campaign with a one-sided loss to G2 (16-2 Vertigo, 16-4 Inferno), leaving the Brazilians with just one more chance to redeem themselves in the lower bracket of ESL One Cologne 2020 Europe.

Since January and the BLAST Premier Spring group stage, MIBR had been competing exclusively in the North American region, making ESL One Cologne their first foray into Europe with their new addition, Alencar "⁠trk⁠" Rossato. Replacing Ignacio "⁠meyern⁠" Meyer with the 25-year-old rifler from TeamOne saw MIBR climb from #26 to #16 in the rankings over the last few months, but the competition in Europe turned out to be a different ballgame as G2 didn't give them a warm welcome to the Old Continent.

Both Vertigo and Inferno were one-sided affairs, with Damien "⁠maLeK⁠" Marcel's men running up big leads on the Terrorist sides and closing things out quickly on CT. This result sees MIBR relegated to the lower-bracket of group B, where they will face Marcelo "⁠coldzera⁠" David's FaZe and fight for their tournament lives.

G2 were on point from the get-go, bullying MIBR's A ramp defense on Vertigo to take the early lead as Terrorists. Vito "⁠kNgV-⁠" Giuseppe and Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo on the AWPs earned the Brazilians two rounds, but that was all she wrote for them as G2 were flawless for the rest of the half (13-2). Nemanja "⁠nexa⁠" Isaković led by example, 18K-7D before the switch, and with the second pistol going their way and Nemanja "⁠huNter-⁠" Kovač pulling of a 1v2 clutch, Vertigo was concluded briefly, 16-2.

Inferno was off to a chaotic start as both sides won force-buys early on, but G2 was again the team to come out on top and stabilize as kNgV-'s efforts weren't enough for the Brazilian team. The French-Serbian side was up 11-4 at half time after a great tempo switch in round 15, and continued confidently to wrap up the game, 16-4, and 2-0 for the series.

Stop being retards , no one will call G2 cheaters, the only time Brazilians we’re saying someone was cheating was when we lost against leaf and xeppa because ate dozens of suspicious clips against them. Anyway, that being said, G2 played a wonderful game, almost perfect in every aspect. Even tough MIBR is not great for NA standards I think this match shows the gap between NA and EU got even bigger because of the quarantine. Don’t expect NA teams winning games early on when LAN game returns. For MIBR, they have to Absolutely rethink their In game tatics or At least change their IGL because fallen is outdated. kngV played great but TRK didn’t looked good against Europeans today. It will be a big surprise if they win the next match
