Complexity secure ESL One Cologne playoff spot; NAVI to face NiP in Group A lower bracket
Complexity beat Natus Vincere on the CIS team’s map pick, Dust2 (16-9), and on their own, Nuke (16-8), to secure a pass to the ESL One Cologne playoffs.
Complexity and Natus Vincere won their opening matches against MAD Lions and MOUZ, respectively, setting up an upper bracket match for a spot in the playoffs. Despite a hard-fought first half on Dust2, Complexity’s attack was too much for their CIS opposition, ending in Benjamin "blameF" Bremer and company going into their map pick leading the series. Despite starting 0-4 on Nuke they hit double digits at the half, going up 10-5 before closing the match out to secure a spot in the ESL One Cologne playoffs. NAVI's tournament run isn't over, however, as they will now have the chance to face Ninjas in Pyjamas in the lower bracket for another shot at the playoffs.
William "RUSH" Wierzba downed three in the first pistol round on Dust2 to propel Complexity into the lead on the CT side, but Natus Vincere tied it up by the fourth round. Rounds then went back-and-forth as both teams were still at a stalemate after ten rounds. The European-American were finally able to link two in a row, pushing NAVI into a forcebuy, and eventually winning the half by a slim 8-7 margin as the CIS side took the last two rounds thanks to four kills by Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev in one and doubles by Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov and Egor "flamie" Vasilyev in the other.
Owen "oBo" Schlatter opened up the second half with three opening kills with the glock as Complexity furthered their lead to 11-7 ahead of the first gun round, which they also won with doubles by blameF and Valentin "poizon" Vasilev. Complexity flew to match point, and although Natus Vincere won two rounds, five Desert Eagle kills spread between Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke and RUSH—the latter in a 1vs3 afterplant situation—put an end to the first map, 16-9.

Natus Vincere charged ahead to a 4-0 lead on the defending side of Nuke, but found themselves losing hold as Complexity tied it up on the eighth round of the half, 4-4. The European-American team then won five more rounds to take a commanding lead, dropping just one before switching sides, ending the half 10-5.
Complexity won an all-important second pistol round to inch closer to victory, going up 12-5. NAVI then claimed their first buy round and two more to start closing the gap, regaining momentum and setting the pace on the attacking side, but doubles by oBo and poizon followed by a three-kill round by the American youngster made it 14-8. Complexity then won out, securing their appearance in the ESL One Cologne playoffs and sending NAVI to the lower bracket, where they will face Ninjas in Pyjamas.
