FalleN steps down from MIBR: "I'm not satisfied with the recent decision"

The Brazilian veteran asked to be moved to the bench after the organisation decided to remove two of his teammates and the coach.

Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo has requested to be removed from MIBR's starting lineup, the 29-year-old revealed on Sunday. In a Twitlonger post, the two-time Major champion showed his discontent with the organisation's decision to remove Fernando "⁠fer⁠" Alvarenga, Epitacio "⁠TACO⁠" de Melo and coach Ricardo "⁠dead⁠" Sinigaglia, and said that he will now take some time off to think about what he will do next.

"I'm not satisfied with the recent decision," FalleN wrote. "Last weeks have been tough and challenging and that is why I'm asking to leave the active roster while I think about my next steps. This time will be necessary to find my essence and return the peace I need to decide my path, while I accomplish my contractual obligations."

FalleN was the last remaining member of the MIBR team acquired from SK in June 2018 by the Immortals Gaming Club (IGC), which revived the iconic Made in Brazil brand. He teamed with fer from 2014 to 2020 and also spent the majority of the last five years competing alongside TACO, who said that Sunday's changes had been made "exclusively by the organization".

"At this moment, more than ever, I need to be true to my values and heart to close this chapter of this beautiful story and out of respect for the fans who never left us," FalleN added. "I communicate my dissatisfaction to MIBR regarding the decision to completely overhaul the line-up I chose to play for. We enter as a team and as a team we will leave, as we follow day after day side by side, motivated by the real passion for playing. Every morning, we wake up imbued with the mission of overcoming ourselves and seeking to be better."

FalleN's comments echo those of teammate Vito "⁠kNgV-⁠" Giuseppe, who tweeted that he "did not agree" with the changes. The former Immortals and INTZ player, who had recently taken over as in-game leader, lamented the constant roster changes, which in his opinion hindered the team's development.

The IGC is yet to react to the latest development. MIBR are scheduled to return to action next month in the final Regional Major Ranking (RMR) tournament of the year, IEM New York. The Brazilian team saw all their RMR points removed after dead was caught exploiting the coaching bug in ESL One: Road to Rio and cs_summit 6.

Okay. The org pays the players so that they give there best (to compete). They played together for several years and in the past few years, they didn't succeed a lot. So, the obvious decision was to change the lineup, which they did several times like addition of kngv, trk etc. Still, there's no improvement. They are still playing bad, which means the core is the problem. Now they decide to bench taco and fer, FalleN decides to leave. Why? Because he is not happy with the decision. Okay, then what does he think? Was he going to win the next few tourneys with the current lineup? Or atleast top 3-4 finish? No, right... It basically means that he was there for his friends, not for competing to win.

I agree if fer and tacos been on the chopping block for years and fallens been the one keeping them in. It speaks about fallens character that he is more loyal to fer than mibr. Fallens decision will help both get what they want. I would like to know though if the decision to kick was sudden. Since kngv also disagrees with the decision, it means the 4 wanted to play together, and the org should have picked up a new roster to succeed, instead of trying to break them up. Expecting Fallen to stay, despite him wanting to play with fer and taco is a bad move from mibr.

I agree! MIBR is going downhill since its formation, since the players left SK. Coldzera's departure just made it worse - he was the one holding the team somewhat together because he's consistent af and a monster in the game. The recent results, mainly the great fiasco in bootcamp in Europe just showed that this team isn't working together. Instead of changing the 5th player forever with no results, the org decided they needed some more structural changes and I sympathize with that. The removal of fer and taco could bring some truly fresh talents to change the situation but Fallen asking for bench is just disband at this point. Let's wait for scenes of the next chapter on this massive and neverending MIBR drama.

Meh tbh their last true success in T1 was before Stewie came in with the epic victory in EPL against Faze, Epicenter vs VP and then they reached semis of the Boston major losing against eventual winners C9. After that everything started going down and they failed to properly have success in T1 again. Moche XL and Adrenaline Cyber League were T2-3 events and Belo Horizonte had besides SK 3 more T1 teams and they all finished above SK (or tied). The kicking of Boltz was actually the ignitor of their downfall imo

You clearly don't understand much. An organisation does not determine themselves who wants to play with each other and who doesn't. IF they are unsatisfied with their teams performance, they may contractually have the right to terminate their contract, however, doing that without consulting the entire team and seeing their reactions to it is poor management. You take a meeting with the player group, say your piece, tell them what you are going to do and figure out if anyone is onboard/not onboard, if the players you plan on keeping do not agree and even strongly disagree, then let the whole team go and you don't look like a fool by making decisions seemingly behind players back thinking there would be no consequences. So no, it was clearly NOT for the betterment of the team. If that had been the case, the players who actually make up the team wouldn't have been against the changes FORCED on them, and instead embraced them. Now what it ends up looking like is the entire team disbanding

who's paying them salaries, fallen or mibr ? At some point you need to be professionnal you don't agree but you have a contract and you should respect it, instead of being a kid at that age. MIBR paying a fucking amount of money and buyout players to improve the team &result and they are still trash. I was a big fan or fallen in the SK years, but then he just seemed more and more arrogant and toxic towards his co-players as time went on. I can't say I've cared much for the guy since. Fer seems like a douchebag, Taco seems okay. Perhaps Stewie2k, Fallen, S1mple and Fer can create Team Toxic. Just need a fifth player.

Wtf happened after SK? There were some drama between Fallen and the owners of SK when they were separating and some relatives to Fallen were involved with MIBR right? IF it was a cousin or something, i can't remember correctly. Just feels like the whole project with MIBR just got off on the wrong foot and never really recovered.

Lmao, how delusional can FalleN and people be? The decision to remove Taco and Fer i can 100% understand, at least from the outside, obviously i dont know how things work on the inside of the team. Fer have been playing worse and worse, he needs a new team that might save him so he can perform like he did a few years ago or as a last resort he can switch to Valorant. Taco have just been bad for so long, i mean, sure, he plays the garbage roles, but that doesnt mean you can only get 3-10 frags per map. Just look at players such as RUSH, he plays the garbage roles in coL, yet he gets between 15-25 kills almost every map. If they brought in Steel from Movistars as a new IGL and let FalleN 100% focus on the AWP it could have worked out, but FalleN as a IGL just doesnt work in 2020 or even 2019, now hes obviously benched as well, so...i think the last 2 players might disband the roster? Not sure to be honest.

On his day, he would still reck any awper.. Put him as dedicated AWP on teams with structure and he would do what he does best even in 2020... Looking forward to seing him in T1 team again! MiBR only have a chance to resurrect if they buy Furia. MiBR is a good professional team with experience but they needed a new squad you cant fix something that is broken from inside. Fallen was underperforming, Taco and fer very confortable doing same plays enemies would counter them easily, trk even if hes good hes like a newcomer.. he cant carry same as grims in liquid. I belive Kng was the only consistent player in the team
