Quartet secure spots in Flashpoint 2 closed qualifier

SAW, AVEZ, Nexus, and Lilmix prevailed in the second open qualifier for Flashpoint 2, becoming the final set of teams to qualify for the closed stage as they now await the announcement of the eight invited sides.

The second open qualifier for Flashpoint 2 played out in its entirely on Saturday, kicking off with an initial pool of 278 teams who faced off in a single-elimination, best-of-one bracket until just 16 remained.

From that pool, it was SAW and AVEZ who emerged victorious from the top portion of the bracket, with the former team taking down LDLC and FATE while the latter dispatched of C1Smix and Unique to claim spots in the closed qualifier.

The opposite side of the bracket saw Nexus secure a 2-0 win over Sangal before taking on Janusz "⁠Snax⁠" Pogorzelski's Illuminar, a series in which the Romanian roster required all three maps to claim victory.

Meanwhile, stellar back-to-back series performances from Jonathan "⁠b0denmaster⁠" Bodenmalm helped Lilmix surpass 1win and Galaxy Racer, granting the Swedish side the final qualification spot on offer for the closed qualifier.

wonder who the invited teams will be but thorin hinted at 2 pretty big teams for the main event. flashpoint really needs some better teams to ramp up the quality, not just prizepool

so did Wisla Krakow AGO Movistar Riders and Movistar Riders lost both times in the second round, that's one of the motives why i think Movistar Riders shouldn't even be invited. They go to both qualifiers, lose in the first game they play, and then get invited like bruh, imagine how it must be for a team like Galaxy Racer who in the first day went all the way up to Round of 16, and on the second day went all thew way to the quarter finals, and then not getting invited, and seeing a team who literally lost in the first round of both qualifiers getting invited over you. Even the guys from Project X that in both days went all the way to the Round of 16 deserve a spot in the Closed qualifier more than Movistar Riders do

sAw is looking great atm., for me they are TOP 30 team. I think they can surprise a lot of ppl in closed qualifier. AVEZ is showing potential aswell. Nexus is looking pretty good to, with small changes they could be maybe even TOP 20 team. Lilimix is pretty good to, when they get some experience they might be a TOP 30 team aswell.

The invites should be given to teams that are better ranked than the ones that qualified, and that didn't get eliminated on both open qualifiers. I hate invites because it's not fair to the others, but I understand that this is a business, and there are teams that obviously bring more viewers with them. But it has to be fair.
