Dignitas round out roster with HEAP

The 20-year-old completes the new Swedish-Norwegian lineup and will have a baptism of fire in his debut at Flashpoint 2.

Dignitas have announced the signing of Ludvig "⁠HEAP⁠" Alonso to their team, completing the revamping of their squad after the team was reduced to three players following the benching of Christopher "⁠GeT_RiGhT⁠" Alesund and Richard "⁠Xizt⁠" Landström in mid-September.

HEAP joins a day after the unveiling of Haris "⁠H4RR3⁠" Hadzic, who reunited with former Nordavind teammate Håkon "⁠hallzerk⁠" Fjærli on Monday, and will get straight to work with his new team in order to finish the year on a high note following a turbulent 2020 for Dignitas.

Dignitas' lineup is back to completion

The young Swede is largely inexperienced at a professional level with only 18 HLTV maps played, having featured for Sweden in two seasons of the King of Nordic tournaments in 2018, a couple of qualifiers for EsportsAdviser, and most recently a stint in Begrip before the entire squad was released in July.

HEAP will get a chance to showcase his worth once the team returns to action on November 9 for Flashpoint 2, where the team will hope to heavily improve on last season’s 10th-place finish at the $1 million event.

With this signing, Dignitas now have:

That is the least understandable thing I've read so far this year. Also I'm guessing you've never played with a team? I'll just say this, playing anchor positions, being an information player and shit like that wont net you good kd ratio but it is what will win your team rounds. It gives your team the chance to lock down other parts of the map.

Sure there are better players than him, but they are still doing well with him. Or they did until obo left. But there might not be suitable players available either. You cant just put anyone in those positions though, like gla1ve on B-site train after his first game back. He is a great player and IGL but a shit B-site anchor on train, like he said himself in the hltv interview :P

To be fair, H4RR3 hasn't had a stable contract in 2 years. That shit affects you. He's JOINED the Nordavind lineup 5 times in those 2 years, and been dropped on 5 different occassions. With a stable contract like this, a coach like vENdetta, playing alongside his former teammate hallzerk and being IGL:ed by friberg (someone we know can develop talent and shit), this coud work. HEAP is the gamble, but I would imagine he's on a short-term/trial contract. According to their tweets they've been practicing together for a good while and obviously they think he's worth it. They don't need a star rifler. They've already said from the beginning that the team is like Vitality, only they use hallzerk instead of ZywOo. They already have f0rest as a solid rifler alongside him, and friberg doing decently as a supportive element and IGL. The remaining two are just there to set up hallzerk and keep him alive.

I actually don't. They've had really messy roster moves for years, and from what HS and NaTo have said it really seems like the organisation has a big structural problem. He was always the "6th wheel", coming in as a stand-in option when one of their players left/became unavailible, and went on to be released as soon as they signed someone new. HEAP is easily replacable. He's the wildcard. He's cheap and has long-term potential if he can be developed into something good, and if not there's other players they can sign.

If you think about it, dignitas is really similar to vitality. Let me list the similarities. Veteran entry fragger turned igl aka apex. Young star awper aka zywoo Old timer popping heads and shaming everyone who blames bad performance on age aka rpk. Nonamer pulled out of a hat aka misuta.
