The cooperation between the Serbian coach and the American organization has come to an end.

Janko "⁠YNk⁠" Paunović announced his decision to step down as coach of FaZe, following up on news of Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač making the move from FaZe to G2.

"I feel that the best way to move forward is for the team and myself to part ways and, with NiKo going to G2, give the players and the organization the opportunity to get a new coach and IGL who can work on taking the team forward", the 28-year-old tactician explained in his Twitlonger.

YNk leaves the team he spent nearly two years in

Becoming the coach of FaZe in January of 2019, YNk was a part of the organization's tumultuous period, as they trialed Dauren "⁠AdreN⁠" Kystaubayev and Filip "⁠NEO⁠" Kubski while looking for their fifth, before adding Marcelo "⁠coldzera⁠" David and Helvijs "⁠broky⁠" Saukants at the end of the year. During his tenure, FaZe managed to win BLAST Pro Series Miami and Copenhagen, as well as lift the ELEAGUE Invitational trophy.

"For a while now the team has been struggling with some recurring issues in and out of the game which I've done my best to try and amend but unfortunately without much success", YNk wrote in his statement, adding that he still has love for the game and the coaching profession, but plans to "take a break from coaching until the end of the year".

Yes, but all are speaking about G2, but let’s speak about FaZe: Yes, NiKo left. But FaZe can still put up pretty good team. Kick Kjaerbye (he is good, I like him, but he is not playing good in Olof’s shoes). With kicking Kjaerbye, FaZe will have only three players. They have Rain, he can be entry fragger, and with more space, I think that he will put up really good numbers, he can step up and carry in some maps. The Broky, AWPer, that can also step up some times and carry. Cold will be the star player, with way more space he can carry the team. So now you need lurker, and that could be Olof, if it’s true, that he is coming back. And I saw few clips, and he is looking pretty good, and we all know, that Olof could how some really good games. So you have enough fire power, so now you can take IGL, that you will not need kills from. I would be happy if they can get aleksib, but it’s not so realistic, so they can take AZR. And if Cold decides that he wants to leave also, you can keep Kjaerbye. All try to get REZ. In my opinion one of the best aimers in the game when he’s feeling it...

+1 to poaching aleksib, whichever tier 1 team with high firepower to do this first could be winning majors (the blast fall has really convinced me he could be insane with actual firepower in his team). But realistically you can add AZR and you have a killer squad. Also possible faze disband because they dont care enough about csgo atm (typical NA org).

+1 proper IGL and coach they need, they have an awper but would be more interesting in someone like MSL or fallen(needs new strategies but gives great chemistry to the team), Amanek(if he is no longer needed in G1), kjaerbye should be left on whatever position is left on the team as long if this line with rain-entry cold-star olof-lurker be back again and if he fits well get some new young talent as docc, yekindar, bnTeT, malbsMd, MarkE, bROLLAN(save him ffs), stavn(they will go down as LAN comes back).
