The AWPer's time with Heretics seems to be nearing its end as he has been allowed to look for another team.

Heretics have allowed Bryan "⁠Maka⁠" Canda to explore his options for the next year before his contract with the Spanish organization ends at the end of 2020, the Frenchman has announced on Twitter.

The 23-year-old has been a part of the organization since mid-2019, when Heretics decided to turn their focus to the French scene with the signing of FrenchFrogs. Although today he is the last remaining member of that roster, the AWPer helped the organization reach new heights, with the team peaking at No. 21 in the ranking following an impressive campaign at ESL One: Road to Rio.

Maka weighs up his future

The French side has been going through a rough patch in the last month and a half, as the organization dismissed Morgan "⁠B1GGY⁠" Madour in late September due to the coach receiving a 7.5-month ban by ESIC for using the infamous coaching exploit, and sold Nabil "⁠Nivera⁠" Benrlitom to Vitality three weeks later.

Since then, the team has struggled with consistency as Alexandre "⁠xms⁠" Forté was in and out of the roster due to health issues, and earlier on Sunday, the 23-year-old announced his departure from Heretics.

The instability and shaky results in recent times, during which Heretics were unable to replicate the promising form they had shown earlier in the year, have also caused Fabien "⁠kioShiMa⁠" Fiey to take to Twitter to express his discontent with his current situation, as he discussed the possibility of his career coming to an end.

wow, this is really unfortune for Heretics, they lost their best player

G2 would be good option since kennys is inconsistant But we have to see what move will g2 play maybe they wait this year then change player and get maka for free

really ? I never knew maka is igl NiKo was IGL in FaZe doesnt mean he is acual igl he is 2nd caller and hunter is also2nd caller nexa is IGL and I thought Lucky and kio were doing IGLing in Heretics

i mean,k10 was second caller,the lucky took igl but it didnt work,but in RMMR tournaments where they had good performance maka was leading still a problem of 3 2nd caller in 1 team just put mak in faze

Yeah, he is a LOT better than kenny at this point. Also better with rifles. Kenny is only here for name value at this point. Maka is likely the second best french player at the moment

Yeah... well Nivera chose to go T1 which was always going to happen but what made it all go wrong was xms being ill all the time. It’s a real shame, this team was so much fun to watch ! Kio needs a break, but I hope it’ll be just that and not a full stop. He’s still a high quality player, one which can bring experience and talent to a roster and bring up new talents as time goes. Maka can definitely explore for now. Lucky and Jackz will probably reunite somehow
