Triumph part ways with ryann

The 19-year-old becomes the latest North American player to transition to VALORANT.

Ryan "ryann" Welsh has left Triumph in order to pursue a career in VALORANT, the organisation has announced. The rifler takes his leave after spending just three months with the roster, having been recruited in September as a replacement for Gabe "Spongey" Greiner.

ryann's professional CS:GO career spanned over three years and included stints on Swole Patrol, Singularity, and Envy. He attended a handful of international tournaments, including the WESG 2018 Finals, in China, and DreamHack Masters Malmö 2019 — his sole Big Event.

ryann leaves Triumph to try his luck in VALORANT

During his short tenure with Triumph, ryann averaged a 0.93 rating, with the team notably taking down Liquid en route to a second-place finish in IEM Beijing-Haidian North America. He made his final appearance for the team last week in a 0-2 defeat to Rebirth in the DreamHack Masters Winter group stage.

ryann may not be the last player on his way out of Triumph as a previous report pointed towards Paytyn "junior" Johnson joining FURIA as a replacement for Henrique "HEN1" Teles due to "issues outside of the server."

With a clear calendar until the new year, Triumph will have time to scout out new players as they look to bolster their roster for 2021.

With ryann's departure, Triumph are left with:

United States Alan "Shakezullah" Hardeman
United States Paytyn "junior" Johnson
Canada Erik "penny" Penny
United States Brendan "Bwills" Williams

Brazil Marcos "tacitus" Castilho (coach)

rip Shakezullah. I mean this guy always manages to make a good roster out of nothing and then one of his players transitions to Valorant or gets stolen by another team. Really unlucky.

Yeah, sorry, that makes shakezullah and Bwills great players, and this team will make it far in the next majors. Penny and junior should stick with them forever. There’s a difference in ”team” and ”org”, just wanted to let u know that.
2020-12-12 08:51

We all know the difference. The point was that the org can't afford all the top players, and neither can penny or Junior make their way into the bigger orgs right now, because they aren't looking to make adjustments. Junior might be moving soon, but that's also because Triumph as an org and as a team let him be the star and facilitated his growth, ultimately linking him to FURIA. Same will happen with penny, if orgs like GenG/Extra Salt want him. And we already know Shakezullah is an IGL so there's no point in bashing him anyway. He makes less-talented teams work somehow.

Exactly, so what’s your point of your first answer when u clearly agree with what i wrote? U answered it like i wrote something completely else which was unnecessary.

You were pitying their situation, but that was unnecessary in itself. There aren't any opportunities available yet, so saying 'they're stuck' is just wrong. They're not stuck. They're developing their game by being the star players of this team. Eventually someone will call their number. // The same team also brought Grim up and sold him.

Why many NA players switch to Valorant? Haven't seen news that, Eu players switch to Valorant. In my opinion, only kids are playing Valorant, same shit game like Fortnite.

It’s because of org help is almost gone in NA and also NA valorant is much more popular than EU

Valorant is a bad game. It is quite boring to watch and play. It made sense for like the IBP guys to switch Valorant because they are banned obviously. But there were some players who had a bright future in CS but choose Valorant because it is substantially easier than CS and they are either washed or wanted the pay check. NA CS pro scene is rocky atm but it will build back.

Pretty sure most of the players who switched are gonna regret it, they're gonna be forced out of the scene by organic new talent and then they won't be able to return to cs and can either play t2/t3 valorant or retire completely
