Astralis, G2 secure BLAST Premier Global Finals spots
Six out of eight teams that will attend the $1 million tournament are locked in, with the final two to be decided before the end of the year.
Astralis' victory over BIG in the consolidation finals of BLAST Premier Fall Finals ensured both the Danish powerhouse and Nemanja "nexa" Isaković's G2 spots at the eight-team event scheduled for January.
Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander and co. booked their spot at the BLAST Premier Global Finals by making the grand final of the Fall Finals where they face already-qualified Vitality. Regardless of the outcome of the match, Astralis are given the direct invite for the Global Finals reserved for the best Fall Finals team.
With Astralis out of the picture, G2 secured their slot based on the BLAST leaderboard, a ranking system that takes into account teams' performances in a series of top events that have taken place in 2020, including those hosted by ESL and Flashpoint.

Astralis and G2 have joined four already qualified teams on the team list for BLAST Premier Global Finals 2020, which will take place early into 2021 on January 18-24. The lion's share of the prize pool, a whopping $600,000, will go to the victor of the eight-team event.
Complexity, Vitality, and Evil Geniuses were the first teams to qualify for the Global Finals, thanks to their high placing at the Spring Finals in June, while Natus Vincere qualified next by accumulating enough points in the BLAST leaderboard.
The list of qualified teams is available below:
Complexity - BLAST Premier Spring Europe Finals
Vitality - BLAST Premier Spring Europe Finals
Evil Geniuses - BLAST Premier Spring NA Finals
Natus Vincere - BLAST leaderboard
Astralis - BLAST Premier Fall Finals
G2 - BLAST leaderboard
Five teams are still in contention for the final two spots at the tournament: FURIA, OG, Liquid, HEROIC, and BIG.
Winning the final event of the year, the IEM Global Challenge, will secure any of them a spot at the BLAST Premier Global Finals. However, any squad aside from BIG can still make it with a runner-up or lower finish - depending on how their competition fares at the event.
