GODSENT in talks with suNny - Report

The reported move would mark the third player change to ENCE's active roster in two months.

GODSENT are in discussions to add Miikka "⁠suNny⁠" Kemppi from ENCE, according to a report from DBLTAP. The Finnish player would arrive as a replacement for Kevin "⁠kRYSTAL⁠" Amend, who was benched by the international roster in November.

suNny joined ENCE in August 2019, replacing Aleksi "⁠Aleksib⁠" Virolainen and later taking up in-game leading duties for the team, and has since averaged a 0.98 rating.

suNny could be bound for GODSENT

GODSENT, who HLTV.org reported are in advanced conversations with Flashpoint organisation FunPlus Phoenix, currently reside at No. 20 in the world rankings. They recently placed 3-4th in DreamHack Masters Winter Europe following victories over Astralis, North, and HEROIC, utilising Luka "⁠emi⁠" Vuković as a stand-in for kRYSTAL.

The move would mark the third change to ENCE's roster in recent months following the benching of Jani "⁠Aerial⁠" Jussila and Jere "⁠sergej⁠" Salo. The 27-year-old, who has been on sick leave since October, was on Thursday announced as HAVU's new fifth player from January 1.

If the move comes to fruition, GODSENT would have:

Watching ENCE BTS vids its apparent he has this same limited understanding of the tactical aspects of the game and while he can work as a fragging IGL (no longer bait for allu), he is ill suited for IGL position IMO.

i actually think that it went down something like this: sunny was eager to join the best finnish team at the time. allu had convinced him allu could do a better job as an igl than bob, but it was all just allu's fever dream. so allu realized this and remembered sunny had been a 2nd caller in some other team. "hey sunny u want to igl?" and some time later you get sunny venting on twitter that he wishes allu had been open enough to tell him the real reasons why he was made the leader.

Literally every fucking silver in twitch chat would know allu is a great player but he cannot fucking IGL. Sunny should have known as well. He should also have known that good secondary caller does not mean good IGL (dealing with the shitty aspect of leading too). He paid the price, not feeling sorry for him. What I find weird with suNny is that wasn't he the best friend like of allu? According to ENCE marketing videos at least last year.. And now suddenly suNny backstabbed his best friend, when the first big drama happened. Like, when does communities learn from big drama stuff? Which should never anyway exist in professional level, or even amateur/adult. The drama stuff in the gaming communities is so fucking retarded usually to be honest. It's something, where we need to evolve as gamers. For example looking at WoW guilds dramas happen almost every week and promising guilds disbanding, because of these. Quick to judge. We don't know the details what went down in ENCE. We don't know how much freedom sunny had in-game leading. And considering every single player dropped significantly in performance once Aleksib was out, it's clear the team just didn't work. Sunny was put in an impossible situation. Sunny is not an established IGL, that's for sure. We don't know how well he'd perform in that role. I'm really hoping this roster move will work out, but I have my doubts. My point is, let's see first.

Emi did bring Cr4zy to the major with OttoNd and LETN1(definetley not players youd expect at a major) and EspiranTo(extremely inconsistent player) on the roster, during that time period Cr4zy was a threatening team and as soon as he had to hand off coaching to Neil-M to play on the server they dropped astronomically(yes they did lose 2 of their best player but they were losing even to random mixes and very low tier teams, that shouldnt happen to a core that went to the major and brought astralis to the brink with an epic overtime map) so I think his coaching was part of what made that team great along with Sexa and Hunter, Devilwalk isnt a bad coach at all but emi has shown he can turn an international team into something special, why not give him a chance whgile still keeping devilwalk as assistant coach in case emi doesnt work out

godsent had massive toruble against mouz with emi. Meanwhile with krystal they 2:0ed them 2 times Only notabe scalp godsent got with emi was astralis. Every other team they beat before with krystal. Not saying that emi is bad IGL but their results were very simmilar if not worse than with krystal.

Its not that hard to win a game in Groups, also astralis played super bad against godsent. Nothing against godsent but that win was a lot more lucky than people realizy. Their wins against mouz on other hand were complete replicable outplayes. Sure most of mouz was in a slump and they were losing quite a lot of duels but they got outmoved, and outsmarted. And i didnt say emi was bad, i would need to see more tournaments from them with him to decide but so far he didnt seem like much of an upgrade either.

Well but Godsent played super good as well tho, with that logic no upsets would be "relevant". Either way they were very competitive at DHM, even in the matches they lost. Considering emi had only played with them for a short while, that was great success. They for sure could've kept him for at least 1-2 more tournaments. Well this was Godsent's biggest achievement so far so to me he looked like quite an upgrade.

Well I was very skeptical about -krystal as I thought it would've ruined GODSENT (it still might), but emi did much better than anyone was anticipating. Maybe they would've got to the finals with krystal, maybe not - who knows. All I know is that even though krystal might be better as an IGL, he was lackluster fragging-wise - he is pretty much the german HUNDEN. And if GODSENT wanna get to tier1 they just need a better fragging IGL unfortunately. Altho any team with krystal on it as the coach would be one fucking scary team.

Godsent can't afford a real top tier IGL anyway so they're pulling these stopgap measures. They're annoyed because kRYSTAL bad fragging and kick him but kinda forget they cannot have anything better realistically. So now they have Sunny who CAN frag actually, but they want him to keep IGLing because no one else wants to. Sunny is desperate to get the fuck out of ENCE especially after his tweet because he can no longer play there. The guy might be even just thinking he can use GODSENT as a stepping stone to display his skills, but how is he going to do that in IGL role? Try to build the game around himself while baiting others as much as possible? His teammates would allow him to do that?

I don't like this at all. I mean for Sunny is surely great, he's been terrible whole 2020 and it is funny how his rating steadily drops year after year (check his stats in 2017 -> 2018 -> 2019 -> 2020 :) ). Also his IGL skills are questionable at best (under him ENCE went to pretty much free fall from around top15 team to T3). Might not be only his fault, but still.. He is worth maybe tryout, like emi. //edit with emi they looked decent after very short time (despite everyone was shouting like it will not work and what not) while playing good opponents.
