ESL reveal Pro League Season 13 team list

The list features 18 of the current top 20 teams in the world.

ESL has announced the near-complete list of the 24 teams who will participate in the 13th season of ESL Pro League, which is slated to start online with the group stage on March 8-29 and planned to move to a studio setting in Malta for the play-in stage and the playoffs.

The team list features ESL's 12 partner organizations, ten invites based on ESL's World Ranking — seven from the global ranking, as well as the highest-ranked teams from each of South America, Australia & New Zealand, and Asia —, and the two winning teams of the latest ESEA MDL seasons in North America and Europe.

The competition is stacked with all 16 of the current top-16 teams according to HLTV.org's ranking, as well as two more from the rest of the top 20 and two more within the top 30 mark.

The 24 teams will first be distributed into four round-robin, best-of-three groups of six, which will award the winning teams a place in the play-ins; a stage where the first-placed sides will play one another for a berth in the semi-finals. The second and third-placed teams will begin the playoffs in the Round of 12. A graphic explaining the format more visually can be found here.
