NAVI defeat FaZe to top BLAST Premier Spring Group C

Oleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev and company secured a clean a 3-0 record in Group C after beating FaZe in the final BLAST Premier Spring Groups match.

After a strong showing against Liquid earlier in the day to secure a spot in the BLAST Premier Spring Finals, FaZe stepped back into the server to take on Natus Vincere in the final Group C match, but this time around they weren’t able to bring the same intensity, losing Dust2 10-16 before crumbling against a flawless defensive display by NAVI on Nuke, who came back from a 4-11 deficit at the half to win it 16-11.

This victory sees Natus Vincere top the group while FaZe come in second place, and both are through to the BLAST Premier Spring Finals alongside Complexity, BIG, Evil Geniuses and Ninjas in Pyjamas, while the bottom two Group C teams, MIBR and Liquid, will have to compete at the Showdown with G2, Astralis, Vitality and OG.

s1mple had a great showing with a 1.49 rating across both maps

s1mple and Denis "⁠electroNic⁠" Sharipov kicked Dust2 off taking out all of FaZe with five USP headshots. Dropping a full eco FaZe then won their first full buy round, making it 1-2, but Natus Vincere remained steadily in control on the defense as s1mple racked up 20 kills in a 12-3 half. The European-American combine came alive early on in the second half after securing the pistol round and went on a six round streak, but once NAVI broke through they were able to close the map out 16-10.

Ilya "⁠Perfecto⁠" Zalutskiy downed four CTs to transition NAVI into Nuke, but FaZe won a 2vs4 in the forcebuy round to even things out early on before dominating the half, only allowing their CIS rivals four rounds before the switch. The tables turned in the second half, however, and it was Kirill "⁠Boombl4⁠" Mikhailov and company who kicked into gear on the defense, winning the half flawlessly, 16-11, even securing the map with a ninja defuse on match point.
