The Danish player will pick up the sniper rifle over Alex "⁠ALEX⁠" McMeekin.

Patrick "⁠es3tag⁠" Hansen is set to take over AWPing duties for Cloud9, HLTV.org has learned. The change to the team's roles comes just one month after ALEX picked up the 'Big Green' following the release of Özgür "⁠woxic⁠" Eker, who was removed from the lineup in part due to his "unreliable high ping" and a "compromising time zone."

The change failed to bear fruit as Cloud9 could not reach the cs_summit 7 playoffs in January and failed to qualify for IEM Katowice. The 'Colossus' lost to Spirit and OG in the Play-in stage of the $1 million tournament, leaving themselves out of contention for one of the most competitive events of the year.

es3tag will don the AWP for Cloud9

es3tag is no stranger to the AWP, having often utilised the gun during his time with HEROIC, especially during the five-month period in 2019 between Daniel "⁠mertz⁠" Mertz's benching and Casper "⁠cadiaN⁠" Møller's signing. He will have ample time to reacclimate with the role as Cloud9 currently have no events lined up until ESL Pro League Season 13, which is slated to kick off on March 8.

They should try to have a seangares or astralis-style team with defined, clear roles. This system works the best for young players. for example, on T side: one entry/bait player who goes in first (xeppa) one dedicated awp player who plays it on every map (osee) one gla1ve-like IGl who throws nades and entries with xeppa (ALEX) one "star player" guy who goes in second/third and tradefrags (floppy) one support/lurk (es3tag)

It obviously is, and I have been calling it since day, when ALEX give the interview where he disclosed his pay/bonus. 43k dollars average per month including signing bonus and salary, sorry but this is just throwing money out by the window. This is superstar level pay ( Zywoo, s1, devve, NiKo ) for an average player at best. Not to mention it insta proves c9's management incompetence, especially Henry G. I hope ALEX is his BFF and gave him a percentage because that kind of collusion would be the only way to " justify " such a high pay .

Worst investment ever. Henry should already have got booted. Manager that can't even select proper players while having a millionesque budget = professional misconduct. He proved his massive incompetence right from the get go and should be fired, especially with the subsequent bloopers that happened since then ( woxic leaving, lack of results, alex main awp etc )

Retards, let them do their job. Woxic did no go well with the lineup, so he is removed. Alex did not do well with AWP, so they are changing awper. That is what you expect to do when smth is wrong or did not go well. Not just crying and keeping the same shit. They will find a way to do good, at least have nice players in the roster.
