The international team are interested in the Danish rifler, who was moved to the bench last week.

OG have expressed an interest in signing HEROIC benched player Nikolaj "⁠niko⁠" Kristensen, HLTV.org has confirmed. The Danish rifler has been earmarked as a replacement for Nathan "⁠NBK-⁠" Schmitt, who was last week removed from the starting lineup following the team's disappointing start to the year.

Negotiations are understood to be still at an early stage, though OG will need to wrap up a signing soon as they are one of the 24 teams that will be taking part in ESL Pro League Season 13, which is slated to start on March 8.

niko could be unveiled by OG soon

niko returned to Heroic in April 2020 after previously representing the organisation between 2016 and 2018. He helped the team to reach unprecedented No. 1 world ranking in the fall after victories in ESL One Cologne and DreamHack Open Fall.

But the Danish team have been unable to reach the same heights in 2021. Less than a week after their group exit in IEM Katowice - following defeats to Spirit and eventual champions Gambit -, HEROIC announced the double signing of Ismail "⁠refrezh⁠" Ali and Rasmus "⁠sjuush⁠" Beck from MAD Lions, moving niko and Johannes "⁠b0RUP⁠" Borup to the bench.

If the move comes to fruition, niko will reunite with his former Heroic and North teammate Valdemar "⁠valde⁠" Bjørn Vangså. He will also once again work under Casper "⁠ruggah⁠" Due, who was his coach in OpTic.

OG will be hoping that a roster change will revitalise the team, who have struggled for form since the start of the year. Aleksi "⁠Aleksib⁠" Virolainen's charges finished 5th-8th in cs_summit 7, failed to qualify for the BLAST Premier Spring Finals via the group stage, and went out of IEM Katowice in 13th-16th place.

Their ratings are very similar vs top 5, 10, and 20 which is only relevant at this point. Niko has really good aim and younger than michu. Between these 2 niko is better, but neither of them is as good as what OG should be looking for.

It is actually a good upgrade because NBK was an entry fragger and niko is also one. The roles are matching and niko is a better player. If ISSAA doesn't work out as a lurker, they can replace the lurk role with Valde and it will be a really good team. A nice upgrade for OG

The thing with OG is that their firepower is actually amazing, I mean, everyone in their roster frags, valde is one of the best Danish players actually, mantuu is pretty good, ISSAA and Aleksib are consistent fraggers to, and even if you look at roles and positions they play, they are really fine with it, everyone is comfortable, and know the hard point is that a job of supporting players, calling etc. will be on Aleksibs shoulders, and that will be a big problem, ofc. in that case when niko joins valde will become more supportive, but do you really want valde to become supportive? Idk.

True, but the hit consistency is never there at crucial times. How many times did they lose 5vx? There's also the fact that IF mantuu is the last one alive he would rather keep the AWP making him somewhat a 50/50, either he pops off or becomes a deadweight that feeds the AWP

Not French. When replacing NBK, you don't compare whether the other player is better aimwise or not. NBK was a support. Ofcourse niko is way better than nbk individually, but will OG get their roles sorted out as they removed a support player who helps with calling when things get tight on a 14-14 scoreline. BUT I can't expect a lvl 3 knowing about roles, all you see is stats, dumbass.

Crazy plot twist: Aleksi refuses to sign another 2 years when OG dont make clear roster upgrades and the goes for free to mouz to lead the likes of ropz, acor and frozen. If acor can reach levels that woxic was able to reach mouz could be easily top 3 again with another S-tier IGL at the helm. OG is more like budget mouz so they will never be able to get tier 1 players unless they get lucky with some hidden talent player (who then gets poached at first opportunity).

OG could easily rebuild the roster around the two when contracts start ending, but imo the best option would honestly be either EG or Mouz trying to get them when their contracts expire sometime November, provided a) EG still struggles or b) dexter doesnt work out that well Otherwise I'm sure that Aleksib will be interested in rejoining x7 and Aerial in HAVU and Valde in some new Danish team given how many previously high tier Danes there are free agents rn
