mousesports, EG, fnatic & HAVU invited to Snow Sweet Snow 3 playoffs

The top-20 quartet has been invited to play in the $68,000 event's quarter-finals.

The organizers of Snow Sweet Snow 3 have invited MOUZ, Evil Geniuses, fnatic, and HAVU to participate in the tournament's playoffs bracket, which they will begin a round ahead of the eight teams coming from the Swiss group stage, in the quarter-finals.

The tournament will offer the three big names a chance for redemption. MOUZ will be hoping to gain some much-needed confidence after a month full of disappointing results with their new in-game leader, Christopher "dexter" Nong, and the same goes for fnatic and Evil Geniuses, who have just been eliminated from ESL Pro League after placing fifth and sixth in Group D.

fnatic enter Snow Sweet Snow with hopes of bouncing back

Meanwhile, HAVU will look to build on an impressive start to 2021, which has so far seen the Finnish side win 17 in 21 matches (53 in 67 maps) in HLTV.org's records as they won two local tournaments as well as Snow Sweet Snow 2 and reached the semi-finals of the ongoing Pinnacle Cup 2021 after beating Ninjas in Pyjamas on Saturday.

Snow Sweet Snow 3's group stage is currently underway. The first two playoffs teams will be determined in Wednesday's matches between Dignitas and Nordavind as well as Tricked and SKADE, with the last two rounds set to be played on Thursday and Friday.

The top-eight teams from the Swiss format will advance to the first round of playoffs, before its winners take on the four directly invited teams in the quarter-finals on Tuesday.

I would disagree. It is not a low to try to get the team's mojo/level back by playing lower stakes/easier tournaments (but still officials). On the other hand it is indeed a low to not make a Big Tournament playoffs for 5 months straight, and fail to even win maps against the top 5ish teams in your EPL group (0-2 TL, 0-2 VP, 0-2 Astralis).

More viewers, storylines, competition > more exciting to watch, compete in, more acknowledgement etc. Also these teams jave to be careful to get deleted, the teams who are grinding these cups are sometimes just on the jump to the tier 1/2 scene. Take endpoint as an example, pretty sure they are in that cup, few days ago they smashed fnatic and EG who are in the cup now as well

If they don't do well on this event, they need to disband or I'll just think they are not motivated enough to play CS.

the line between t1 and t2 is a foggy line. Fnatic has won three majors, its kind of hard to say they are t2. but that was upwards of 5 years ago. Eg has won events recently but are now participating in a qualifier. mouse never really won anything and are now no longer even getting out of groups. I would say the orgs are t1 just based off history but now just based off the fact that they are participating in a t2 qualifier and still may not even win, breaks my heart.

Hope this is the last chance for teams like Fnatic and EG before major changes happen. Mostly for Fnatic. EG could do with another change if they suck dick here tho.

Another disaster will happen for mouz, they are a dead team. It's even worse for EG, they are going to get crushed here. Although I still think those teams are less dead than fnatic, I have never seen fnatic being so bad. Also I don't think HAVU is going to win Snow Sweet Snow 3, but they are the best team out of invites.
