FunSpark ULTI Europe Final bracket revealed

HEROIC are set to face off against Evil Geniuses in their opening match, while Virtus.pro will take on FORZE.

Funspark and 5eplay have revealed the double-elimination, best-of-three bracket for the FunSpark ULTI Europe 2020 Europe Final, with the eight competing teams set to clash from April 19-26 for the lion's share of a $250,000 prize pool and two spots in the 2021 Grand Final.

The tournament, which features three top-ten sides, replaces its LAN equivalent that was originally slated to be played last year in China before it was postponed indefinitely due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

HEROIC, fresh off a win in ESL Pro League Season 13 and currently competing for a spot in the BLAST Spring Finals via the Showdown, will take on Evil Geniuses in a match that could mark Michał "⁠MICHU⁠" Müller's debut for the North American side. On the other side of the bracket, world No.5 Virtus.pro will face fellow CIS side FORZE, one of the two teams coming out of the Europe qualifier.

Heroic will face off against EG in their first match

Extra Salt, who advanced from the North America qualifier and are set to take on BIG in their opening match, enter the tournament looking to claim redemption after suffering an early elimination from the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown at the hands of Spirit.

Johannes "⁠tabseN⁠" Wodarz's troops are in a similar position as they have struggled for form since the start of the year, dropping from No. 4 in the rankings to No. 12 following a last-place finish in ESL Pro League Season 13, with a recent 3rd-4th place exit in the Pinnacle Cup raising further questions about their current level.

Conversely, Complexity and HAVU will both look to continue their upwards trajectories, with Benjamin "⁠blameF⁠" Bremer's side having taken down Natus Vincere and Virtus.pro in the EPL playoffs, and the latter team fresh off a tournament victory over Dignitas in the first FunSpark ULTI Regional Series on Sunday.
