ESL, BLAST announce changes to event schedule as part of "collaborative approach to future governance"

The two tournament organisers have adjusted some dates for the second half of the calendar.

BLAST and ESL have announced that they have made some adjustments to the event schedule for the second half of the 2021 event calendar as part of a "unified approach to the governance of scheduling tournament dates, rulebook alignment and integrity policies."

ESL Pro League, previously scheduled for September 8 - October 10, has been rescheduled for August 16 - September 12, making it the first official tournament after the player break (July 19 - August 15). The $750,000 competition is planned as a studio event in Malta.

EPL S14 will be the first official tournament after the player break

Originally slated for August 26 - September 5, the BLAST Premier Fall Groups is now scheduled to take place from September 16-26. BLAST has yet to announce whether it plans to host the $150,000 tournament online or in a studio.

Meanwhile, ESL has announced that IEM Fall will be held from September 28 through October 10 to avoid a clash with the PGL Stockholm Major.

Below you can find the new dates for these three events:

ESL Pro League Season 14: August 16 - September 12
BLAST Premier Fall Groups: September 16-26
IEM Fall: September 28 - October 10

The two tournament organisers added that they are currently working on a number of matters, including rulebook alignment, integrity policies and scheduling for the 2022 season, with further details to be announced "in the near future."

Volvo should provide more financial support to all the organizers and to the community as a whole, but they can't even fix the issues the average player is asking for (i.e. hacking, servers, updates..), or they don't even care. This is a business, and sooner or later other fps games will take all the cake instead of just a large piece (Valorant). By the time they realize it (when the revenue drastically drops) it'll be too late. Such a shame..

It's the two largest TO's hogging the entire calendar post-player break until the Major. If you are another TO and want the big teams, you have a total of 12 days where you can organize a tournament. Seems like they figured out that they're better off taking out the rest of the competition instead of fighting amongst themselves. It does show the traction Blast has gained for ESL to even agree to this.

ROFL "unified approach to the governance of scheduling tournament dates, rulebook alignment and integrity policies." It's almost like their thought process is as follows: "let's give a bunch of vague statements, then we can always fall back on whatever excuse we find fit" integrity policies......what the fuck does that mean in this aspect. That they will start to actually do anti-cheat....Nope, I cant believe. TO's don't do anti-cheats beyond what is demanded. I have zero respect for TO's who aren't implementing very strict anti-cheats. Make them more intrussive than ESEA ever was. The players are pro's. They can handle buying a PC solely for playing CS. They can also include in expenses in their tax reports, making the PC much cheaper than it is for non-pro's. No excuse for not using super-intrussive anticheats in pro tourneys with 6 digit prize money. None whatsoever.

Who are you suggesting is currently cheating then? Because you wouldn't say that unless you know a top team is cheating
