magixx, degster to remain in quarantine until end of Cologne

The two players came in proximity to a passenger who tested positive for COVID on their flight to Cologne.

Boris "⁠magixx⁠" Vorobiev and Abdul "⁠degster⁠" Gasanov will remain in quarantine until July 19, ESL has announced. The precaution is being taken as a result of official German guidelines, after the two Spirit members were informed by the health authorities that a passenger on their flight to the country tested positive for COVID-19.

The duo tested negative upon arrival and are "in good condition," ready to play out the rest of IEM Cologne from their hotel rooms. The rest of the team has not come in contact with them and will be able to play out the event in the tournament area.

The CIS squad has already played their first match in Cologne under the same circumstances, having lost a narrow opener to HEROIC, with magixx and degster being the only two members to compete from their individual hotel rooms while the remaining trio played from the tournament area.

Spirit are set to play an elimination match against FaZe next in the first round of Group B's lower bracket, on Saturday at 13:30 .
