OG and Complexity battle for first place in final Group B round

All eyes will be on the OG-Complexity bout in the final round as the two teams look to secure the top spot and a place in the quarter-finals.

Group B of ESL Pro League Season 14 is heading into its final round of matches, which will see all three run simultaneously at 20:00 as OG take on Complexity, FORZE face SINNERS, and Virtus.pro lock horns with G2. While the three playoffs teams have already been determined after round four, there is still the top spot left up for grabs, which will put the winning side through straight to the quarter-finals — a round ahead of the other two teams.

Current standings

1. Europe OG (4-0)
2. Russia FORZE (3-1)
3. Denmark Complexity (3-1)
4. World Virtus.pro (1-3)
5. Czech Republic SINNERS (1-3)
6. Europe G2 (0-4)

Final matches

20:00 Europe OG vs. Denmark Complexity
20:00 Russia FORZE vs. Czech Republic SINNERS
20:00 World Virtus.pro vs. Europe G2

All eyes are on OG vs. Complexity

Few could have expected Complexity to be in a position to fight for first place in the group when they entered Group B with Niels Christian "NaToSaphiX" Sillassen standing in for the injured Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke and lost their opening match against FORZE five days ago. Nonetheless, that is where the Benjamin "blameF" Bremer-led team find themselves ahead of the last round of matches after they showcased impressive resilience, taking down SINNERS, G2, and Virtus.pro in three narrow series.

OG look to finish the group with a flawless record

Complexity have yet to face their toughest opponent in the group, however, as they are set to lock horns with an in-form OG squad in a match that could effectively decide which team advances to the playoffs from first place. Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen's men will undoubtedly be favored going into the final round, but an upset is not entirely out of the question after OG looked far from comfortable in their last two matches against FORZE and SINNERS.

In most cases, the victor of the match will secure first place. The only time that doesn't happen is if Complexity beat OG 2-1 and FORZE enter in the three-way tie with a win over SINNERS, which would still see OG lock the top spot due to overall map difference.

The pressure is then on blameF and company to win the all-important match in two maps to guarantee themselves first place and the quarter-final spot no matter what else happens. Meanwhile, FORZE can no longer win the three-way tie for first place and are left to play spoiler to Complexity, and the battle between G2 and Virtus.pro has nothing on the line other than bragging rights and $5,000 in prizemoney.

I believe in JKS supremacy jokes aside , i think its quite spectacular what COL has managed to achieve this tournament so far. First tournament with a new player , their frag heavy guy out with an injury and they brought in a standin who is probably the weakest fragger out of them all but he did managed to handle himself and other teammates performed better than they actually do. I`ve never been a COL fan but addition of JKS made me turn the head and with Esetag in the folds too, Complexity seems to be a team i can get behind.

If BlameF stays aggro, poizon stays in form, jks stays consistent, and Es3tag continues to play well CoL will be very very scary with K0nfig.

es3tag and even NaToSaphiX are both great upgrades from RUSH. We will see what aggressive role clashes there might be when k0nfig returns and if they will even make it to the majors. They deserve a spot for sure.

Even if BAiTF stays agro, poizon stays in form, jks stays consistent and es3tag continues to play well with k0nfig returning back in the lineup, OG in 6

So for coL to be 1st, they have to win and catch up to forZe in RD? I love you Striker, but your cases are all sorts of confusing to me.

As the article says, COL just need a 2-0 win to guarantee 1st no matter what. Or just to win and forZe to lose.
