TeamOne remain winless as they lose 0-2 to resurgent NIP

Once again the Brazilians suffered a heart-breaking close map loss, this time on Overpass, and they now face likely elimination from ESL Pro League.

With this 0-2 loss on Nuke and Overpass it will be tough for TeamOne to qualify for playoffs, needing to win their remaining series against Entropiq and Liquid and see other results go their way to have any chance. Ninjas in Pyjamas continue their revival after a disappointing loss in their first series, and keep their chances to qualify in their own hands.

In the winners' interview Nicolai "⁠device⁠" Reedtz was quick to give his opponents credit for their skill, but identified their T side as a weakness: "They are very skilled, but they are very one dimensional in their tactics. In general, with the prep we did with our analyst and our coach, it was easier to shut it down on CT."

He also identified the match against Gambit as the key game for his squad, whilst guarding against complacency: "We were really close in Cologne [to beating Gambit], it's definitely the match for us in this group stage, but after losing against Liquid it is important to take it one match at a time." Ninjas in Pyjamas take on Gambit on Sunday at 20:00 in their final group game.

The first map of this series was TeamOne's pick of Nuke, and things did not go to plan for the Brazilian squad. They managed to win their T side pistol but were immediately pegged back by a Ninjas in Pyjamas force, and the half quickly spiralled out of control. In particular Ninjas in Pyjamas were incredibly effective in clutch situations, and they built an 11-4 lead by the half off the back of this success.

The second half was more competitive with TeamOne on the favoured CT side of Nuke, despite the Ninjas picking up the pistol and converting. The Brazilians saw success getting entry kills, particularly Pedro "⁠Maluk3⁠" Campos on the AWP, and began to slowly eat away at Ninjas in Pyjamas's lead. Unfortunately they had left themselves too much to do, and Ninjas in Pyjamas eventually managed to labour to a 16-11 victory.

This took us to Ninjas in Pyjamas's pick of Overpass, and here TeamOne would see more success. prt and co. got off to a good start, winning their CT pistol and overcoming a second round loss to dominate the half. They achieved excellent results with aggressive CT plays, particularly Maluk3 and the immensely impressive Mario "⁠malbsMd⁠" Samayoa, consistently picking apart the Ninjas' default to rack up a 10-5 lead at the half.

Unfortunately for the Brazilians they could not carry this form into their T side. They took the pistol and converted for a 13-7 lead, and later lead 14-10, but once again could not get over the line for a map victory; once Ninjas in Pyjamas got a handle on some of the faster paced rounds being thrown at them, they took five of the final six rounds to secure overtime.

With the Ninjas continuing on the CT side the Brazilians had their work cut out for them, and the trend from the rest of the game continued into overtime as Ninjas in Pyjamas comfortably took all three rounds in the first half of OT. Fredrik "⁠REZ⁠" Sterner took matters into his own hands as Ninjas in Pyjamas moved onto T side, posting a monster 1v4 clutch to clinch the map for his team, 19-15.
