Virtus.pro replace SANJI with FL1T for PGL Major*
The CIS-based side will play at the upcoming Major with the former FORZE member.
Update: As a result of the change, Virtus.pro have dropped below Entropiq in tournament seeding, and the two teams have traded opening matchups in the Challengers stage. Entropiq will face BIG, while Virtus.pro will take on paiN in the first round of the Swiss format.
Virtus.pro have confirmed the addition of Evgenii "FL1T" Lebedev to the team's PGL Major Stockholm roster. The 20-year-old has been brought in to replace Sanjar "SANJI" Kuliev, who had long been rumored to be on the chopping block following a series of underwhelming results.
According to Virtus.pro CEO Sergey Glamazda, no decision has been made regarding the long-term future of the roster, with the organization's chief calling this a "temporary change."
"We want to achieve the best possible result [at the Major], and in order to do so the team needs a new impulse," Glamazda said. "An opportunity to play with Evgeny arose and we decided to seize it."
"No decisions regarding the future of our roster have been made for now. Everything will be clear after the Major when the dust is settled."

The move comes just days ahead of the team's campaign at the Major, where Virtus.pro will begin their journey in the Challengers stage on October 26 after securing Contender status through the CIS Regional Major Ranking.
Virtus.pro have submitted FL1T as part of their main lineup for the Major, incurring a 20% RMR points deduction that will see them and Entropiq swap places in seeding.
Often described as the player who sacrifices himself for the good of the team, SANJI leaves the active lineup following a two and a half years long tenure with the majority of the team, dating back to the time he, Aleksei "Qikert" Golubev, Timur "buster" Tulepov, and Dzhami "Jame" Ali represented AVANGAR. His biggest achievement with the core came under their former banner, in AVANGAR's surprising run to the grand final at the StarLadder Major in Berlin in 2019.
FL1T comes in to replace the Uzbek player after being a part of several variations of FORZE's lineup since 2018. He had grown into one of the team's stars in the past two years, averaging a 1.18 rating in 2021, a year that saw FORZE struggle to make their mark and undergo several changes to a long-lasting lineup.
Virtus.pro's roster will look as follows at PGL Major Stockholm:
Dzhami "Jame" Ali
Aleksei "Qikert" Golubev
Timur "buster" Tulepov
Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis
Evgenii "FL1T" Lebedev
Dastan "dastan" Akbayev (coach)
