FaZe advance to Legends Stage with 3-0 record

The European mix secured a top-16 finish at the Stockholm Major.

FaZe are the first team to leave the Challengers Stage with a 3-0 record after sweeping Virtus.pro 2-0. The European side previously dealt with Spirit and ENCE in BO1s and are looking good heading into the top-16 stage of the Major.

Finn "⁠karrigan⁠" Andersen's men edged out Mirage 16-14 after conceding several rounds on the T side but came back stronger on their map pick of Ancient, locking down both bomb sites in a flawless CT side against Dzhami "⁠Jame⁠" Ali and co. Virtus.pro now fall to the 2-1 pool and have two more chances to qualify for the Legends Stage that starts on October 30th.

Twistzz was the star of the series

The first best-of-three of the event saw FaZe take on Virtus.pro. The Europeans got off to a great start on Mirage, dominating their opponents and gathering a 12-6 lead, but fortunes quickly turned in favor of Virtus.pro as Timur "⁠buster⁠" Tulepov proved a real nuisance on the B bombsite for the Europeans. Despite conceding seven consecutive rounds, FaZe were eventually able to stabilize and edge the map 16-14.

Going Ancient, Virtus.pro stared down the barrel of a 0-2 sweep as FaZe
came as the clear favorites on the map. karrigan orchestrated a great offense and closed the first half ahead 9-6. Russel "⁠Twistzz⁠" Van Dulken performed excellently on both sides of Ancient, ending the map with a 27-12 K-D and 122.4 ADR as FaZe steamrolled Virtus.pro on the CT side.

Faze made major on the edge, but now they are in "deep playoff run" form.

I honestly can see Navi vs Faze final if they dont bump to each other before it.

ez for FaZe. there are still many kids who think faze will not beat any tier 1 team. but there's no actual stable tier 1 team at the moment.
