PGL Major Stockholm 2021NAVI ease past Virtus.pro; Heroic put Vitality on brink of elimination
The Frenchmen are staring down an early exit from PGL Major Stockholm after falling to HEROIC in their second matchup.
Natus Vincere have moved onto to 2-0 round of the Legends Stage at PGL Major Stockholm after crushing Virtus.pro in their second Swiss matchup, leaving them just one series win away from qualifying for the playoffs.
Conversely, Vitality have been left staring down the barrel of elimination after suffering a defeat to HEROIC. Despite keeping the map close throughout their effort, the Frenchmen were unable to overcome the Danish team in the closing moments of the map, and will now look to claim redemption as they fight back from an 0-2 record.
A triple kill from Denis "electroNic" Sharipov kicked off Natus Vincere's CT side effort on Overpass, with Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev and Valeriy "b1t" Vakhovskiy contributing their own multi-kill rounds en route to a 3-1 start. Virtus.pro quickly tied the score with two rounds of their own, but were put on the back foot immediately after as the aforementioned Natus Vincere pair continued to shut down the attacking efforts of Dzhami "Jame" Ali's side to end the half ahead 11-4.
Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov scored three frags in the second pistol round to keep momentum in NAVI's favor, and from there, the team wasted little time in closing out the series, with s1mple adding further multi-kills as they crushed their CIS opposition for a swift map win.

HEROIC were the ones to gain the upper hand at the onset of their own Overpass effort against Vitality, led by back-to-back double kill rounds from Ismail "refrezh" Ali. It took a quad kill from Richard "shox" Papillon for Vitality to get on the board, converting two ensuing rounds to tie the score, 3-3. A back-and-forth between the two teams continued to unfold, leading to another tie at 6-6, but it was HEROIC who narrowly pulled ahead at the break by a single round.
A pistol round win allowed HEROIC to extend their lead, but it wasn't long before Vitality began to fight back. Dan "apEX" Madesclaire and Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut were key in opening up two rounds for their side as they rallied to once again tie the game, 11-11, but HEROIC found their footing in the latter moments of the map thanks to Casper "cadiaN" Møller's own entry kills, conceding just one additional round en route to a 16-12 finish.
