NAVI lock in playoffs spot in Stockholm with 2-0 victory over NIP

Natus Vincere become the second squad to secure a playoffs spot at the Major after beating Ninjas in Pyjamas and going 3-0 in the Legends Stage.

Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev continues his march towards a Major trophy in Stockholm as Natus Vincere punch their ticket into the playoffs after beating Ninjas in Pyjamas. Yet to drop a map, Natus Vincere join G2 as the other squad to clear the Champions Stage 3-0 following wins over HEROIC, Virtus.pro and now Ninjas in Pyjamas.

The number one and two ranked squads went head-to-head as 2-0 teams but Ninjas in Pyjamas were outgunned and outclassed on Nuke and Overpass and will try again for a playoffs spot in the next round of the Legends Stage.

NAVI have their sights set on a Championship in Stockholm

Natus Vincere kicked off Nuke in a dominating fashion, quickly gaining a seven round lead. Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzalez Zamora gave his team some breathing room after snatching a round away from Natus Vincere and put the momentum in favour of the Swedish side. After managing to pull the economy back Ninjas in Pyjamas were able to put forward a respectable 7-8 half. While the Ninjas were able to take the second pistol round, s1mple continued his dominant form thus far in the event and with the help of Denis "electroNic" Sharipov closed out the map 16-9.

Overpass played out in a similar fashion as Natus Vincere rapidly gained a lead over the Swedish side as the recent addition of Valeriy "b1t" Vakhovskiy came alive alongside s1mple and electroNic. Ninjas in Pyjamas failed to capitalise on opportunities to claw back into the map as Natus Vincere turned up the heat once again going into the second half. b1t finished on top of the scoreboard as the 18-year-old also had the luxury of closing out the map with a knife kill.

Navi is just simply better than nip. The team work is better, individually they’re better. If you look at the head by head: S1mple >= Device Electronic >= REZ Boombl4 =< Hampus B1t >>> LNZ Perfecto >>> plopski The only stand out player for nip is hampus, besides him navi are better individually on every position. It is like niko said, navi are a step ahead of everyone else, behind them it is close.

Then he should have also said entropiq to be unlucky playing G2 Nip are #2 in the world they are the closest , if nip are unlucky then give the major already to navi Not a good argument

Its not unlucky for them having bad skill or something. Its unlucky cause they got navi as their opponent whereas they had better chance to win against G2 or Entropiq. Then we could see both navi and nip getting qualified for playoffs as first batch and then maybe lose to navi at playoffs or something... But sadge

NIP still has 2 attempts to come out without playing against Navi. Let's see if it's not in vain that they are made the favorite of the tournament, after NAVI. as for me, in 2nd place I see G2😉

I suspect NiP would've won against G2. And hence, matchup against Navi was kinda unlucky. I was secretly hoping that Navi make a clean 3-0, but oh well.... GGWP both teams.

They really played bad on their own map... it was clearly seen that they were never ready for NAVI's aggressive side

Yeah, although I think even if REZ had snapped onto B1T, both his teammates would've gotten the refrag immediately, they were ready for the worst this time!

+1 trading possibility was very high, and REZ already checked to his right, so there was no world in which he would turn around again

Nip saving strats!! For the grand final vs Navi - again. That's why they don't want to show their whole entire register today. Regarding aim: they want to put Navi into comfort zone so they can surprise Navi at lager stage. Totally not copium at all!

So I guess non of the team wanted to show their aces cards they hiding in their sleeves. Navi had better aim than Nip today though. We have to watch grand fjnal to see the full potential of the fight.
