HLTV.org sets new website records during PGL Major Stockholm

Counter-Strike powers on - HLTV.org reaches new heights during the latest Valve-supported event.

The CS:GO community displayed their immense support for the game during the PGL Major Stockholm over the two weeks of action. The first day of our World Championship event immediately surpassed HLTV.org's previous peaks, but the interest would continue to grow as the tournament progressed.

The highest number of users visiting the website during one day was recorded on the grand final day, November 7, as over 1.3 million accessed HLTV.org to find information about the Natus Vincere - G2 game.

The first day of the Legends Stage was the busiest one ever in terms of pageviews as over 25 million were recorded on October 30. Additionally, the PGL Major Stockholm surpassed previous Majors in terms of unique visitors for a whole Major, recording over 5.5 million across the three stages of the event.

The new daily HLTV.org user peak accounts for a +29% increase compared to the record set on January 20th of this year, when the best player of 2020 was revealed. Meanwhile, the pageview record is a +34% rise in comparison to the record from February 21, 2019, set during the IEM Katowice Major.

Lastly, the number of overall users accessing the site during a Major is a +28% increase compared to the previously most popular one, the StarLadder Berlin Major 2019. That was achieved despite the PGL Major Stockholm being shorter, as traffic was consistently high, with multiple days from the past two weeks surpassing previous daily records in terms of both users and pageviews.

Together with the news that the grand final recorded over 2.7 million concurrent viewers — an over two-fold increase compared to the previous peak —, this spells good news for the health of the competitive Counter-Strike scene.
