BLAST Premier World Final to take place without audience

The closing tier-one event of 2021 will run in a studio setting in Copenhagen.

BLAST has announced that the $1 million World Final, taking place on December 14-19, will be held at the tournament organizer's Copenhagen studio without a crowd amid the worsening situation relating to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The news follows the conclusion of BLAST's previous LAN tournament, the Fall Final, which culminated inside Copenhagen's Royal Arena in front of thousands of fans last weekend and saw Natus Vincere take home the trophy.

CS:GO won't return to the big stage for the remainder of 2021

It will come as a disappointment to fans not to see some of the best teams in an arena again at least until 2022, after the last month witnessed the return of Counter-Strike to big stages twice for the first time in nearly two years, at the PGL Major in Stockholm and at the BLAST Premier Fall Final in Copenhagen.

Like the World Final, the next tier-one tournament on the calendar, IEM Winter, will take place behind closed doors in Stockholm, Sweden.

As the closing event of the year, the World Final is set to bring many of the world's best teams back to action, featuring seven of the current top-ten teams according to the HLTV.org ranking, playing for the $500,000 grand prize:

A Grand Final this close to a final less than 1 month after a final with the same teams...... Kind of weird, but I will take it. The best teams will duke it out once again. NAVI seems unstoppable, but ironically it's because bl4de keeps telling his players they are not unstoppable.
