4glory sign former ONYX trio: "The goal is to finally create a stable Serbian lineup"

The Serbian organization swooped Aleksa "⁠Impulse⁠" Stankić, Dimitrije "⁠DiMKE⁠" Veljković, and Filip "⁠fajkus⁠" Konatarević and set their sights for the top 30.

The international project backed by ONYX was brought to an end after the team attended their biggest event to date, the $300,000+ V4 Future Sports Festival in Budapest. The squad started the tournament with an upset over SINNERS but failed to advance from the play-in stage after two close BO3 losses.

As ONYX decided against extending contracts with the team, 4glory capitalized on the chance to fortify their roster, bringing in two standout domestic players in Impulse and DiMKE, as well as their coach fajkus.

4glory will be living and playing from a bootcamp facility

Impulse, famously a part of Valiance alongside Nemanja "⁠huNter-⁠" Kovač and Luka "⁠emi⁠" Vuković, spoke to HLTV.org to explain the move away from an English-speaking team back to a domestic one. "If players in international teams aren't on a top-level, these teams fail due to communication, cultural differences and disagreements," he said, adding that 4glory gave them a great offer and "a chance to create perhaps the best Serbian project yet".

The 25-year-old AWPer and in-game leader of the team explained that his personal goal is to "finally create a stable Serbian lineup and achieve impressive results." Considering the track record of teams in the region, the former will surely be a tough task, albeit the strength of the roster does give hope that 4glory could be relevant internationally.

Aleksandar "⁠kassad⁠" Trifunović, Serbia's most accomplished coach, posted on Twitter during V4 that combining DiMKE and Impulse with 4glory's star player Luka "⁠c0llins⁠" Živanović would result in a team to look out for, and that is exactly what he got going into 2022.

The squad also has backing only a few teams in the region can boast, 4glory providing a bootcamp house with two practice rooms, offices, relaxation zones, as well as bedrooms for players, who will be living on location. "This means we will be on a constant bootcamp," Impulse explained, who hopes that this approach combined with a lot of work will bring results.

Meanwhile, ONYX are yet to comment on the future of their primary team having released Ukrainian duo Vladyslav "⁠bondik⁠" Nechyporchuk and Dmytro "⁠jR⁠" Chervak into free agents, while Luc "⁠ArroW⁠" Oehmke returned to the academy team.
