Official: XTQZZZ leaves Vitality

The French coach has parted ways with Vitality amid reports of his move to G2.

Vitality and Rémy "⁠XTQZZZ⁠" Quoniam have officially gone their separate ways, with the organization breaking the news on its Twitter account.

The 32-year-old coach's departure comes as little surprise after it has become widely known that the team would be undergoing a big overhaul going into 2022, with reports from as far back as early November linking Vitality with the addition of Astralis trio Danny "⁠zonic⁠" Sørensen, Peter "⁠dupreeh⁠" Rasmussen, and Emil "⁠Magisk⁠" Reif.

Despite changes being on the horizon, the French side continued to compete at a high level over the past few weeks and ended 2021 on a high note, finishing runners-up at the BLAST Premier Fall Final, winning IEM Winter, and placing third at the BLAST Premier World Final.

Following Vitality's elimination from the last event with the current roster, in an interview on BLAST's official broadcast Dan "⁠apEX⁠" Madesclaire said an emotional goodbye to XTQZZZ after having spent three years representing the French banner under the coach's tutelage.

In that time, XTQZZZ stood behind the team when they worked their way up from a completely new constellation in late 2018 to a title contender, when they won numerous titles, such as ECS Season 7 Finals, EPICENTER 2019, and BLAST Premier Fall 2020 Finals, and became the No. 1 ranked team on two occasions in late 2020.

The French skipper now leaves his first tier-one team and looks ahead to a new challenge. According to Monday's report by 1pv.fr, he is set to join G2 as part of an overhaul of the European roster.
