'The Professor' is now a free agent after spending the last year under the North American banner.

Liquid have announced the official departure of Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo from the organization.

The Brazilian AWPer leaves the North American side following a year-long tenure amid reports of a new project being born under his leadership featuring former teammates Lincoln "⁠fnx⁠" Lau, Fernando "⁠fer⁠" Alvarenga, and Ricardo "⁠boltz⁠" Prass, as well as FURIA's Vinicius "⁠VINI⁠" Figueiredo, which has become widely known as 'The Last Dance.'

FalleN joined Liquid in early 2021 as a replacement for Russel "⁠Twistzz⁠" Van Dulken. The team had hoped to solve issues with the AWPing role that had plagued them in 2020 and aimed to have the veteran eventually become their permanent shot-caller, but differences in views between members of the lineup saw leadership bounce back and forth between the Brazilian and Jake "⁠Stewie2K⁠" Yip.

FalleN leaves Liquid in preparation for the move to his new project

Towards the end of the year, it started to become clear that the lineup wouldn't last following a series of underwhelming results and that the organization would rebuild around Jonathan "⁠EliGE⁠" Jablonowski going into 2022, and the rumors were confirmed not long after.

In the past month, Liquid announced that FalleN, Stewie2K, and Michael "⁠Grim⁠" Wince would be leaving the roster, while Keith "⁠NAF⁠" Markovic ended up extending his contract with the organization. The North American side went on to sign Richard "⁠shox⁠" Papillon and Josh "⁠oSee⁠" Ohm, and they are expected to reveal Nick "⁠nitr0⁠" Cannella as their final player in the near future.

Only Stewie2K still remains contracted to the organization out of the players who were benched late last year. Reports link the 24-year-old with Evil Geniuses, where he would join up with former Cloud9 teammates William "⁠RUSH⁠" Wierzba and Timothy "⁠autimatic⁠" Ta.

Classic Brazilians bringing up trophies that a player won YEARS AND YEARS AGO. Stop it. It does not matter that FNX and the others won trophies years ago, they are still SUPER washed up. They are still washed up man. FNX -> SUPER washed up Fer -> SUPER washed up Fallen -> Kinda washed up VINI obviously play support roles but he is doing OK, Boltz is playing very well. So, Boltz and VINI needs to carry this team lol.

If I understood it correctly, I think that what #93 meant is that FalleN wants to play professionally with his friends, not expecting to win anything. In my point of view, all I can see is old major winners wanting to play together, acknowledging the fact that they aren't the same starplayers, and just want to have fun. For me, every major winner don't have to prove anything else anymore. They already won when they had their chance. Edit: tagged the wrong comment number.

But that's exactly the point that you are missing. What I'm saying is that you don't really wants me to bring back Pirlo and del Piero back and expect him to win another World Cup for us italians, do you? This situation is the same. They still want to compete, but they don't expect big results. It's not like they won't pursue titles, but it's expected that they won't win anything. The only person expecting something from them here is you. Even if your expectation from them is retirement.

It wasn't, I am almost sure that he had a 2 year contract, he might have made a deal with the organization, because I've watched somewhere that he said liquid was easing for him to follow his way out.
