Jonji to stand-in for Party Astronauts as Infinite departs lineup
The Canadian will return to Counter-Strike competition after a few months in VALORANT.
Party Astronauts has announced on Thursday that following the departure of Gage "Infinite" Green from the team, former Bad News Bears member Jonathan "Jonji" Carey will stand in for the near future.
The departure of Infinite follows in the wake of a report by Dust2.us that the 23-year-old is joining a new project helmed by in-game leader Damian "daps" Steele, the existence of which was formally confirmed by the team on Thursday to the same publication.

After playing with Bad News Bears for most of 2021, Jonji eventually made the decision following the team's poor performance in DreamHack September to step down and try his hand at VALORANT. Shortly after, he was signed by Built By Gamers, an organization to which he remains tied despite his full-time return to Counter-Strike.
Party Astronauts currently have a spot in ESL Pro League 15, earned by winning ESEA Premier Season 38, and are also set to play in ESL Challenger League Season 40.
Here is Party Astronauts' current lineup:
Josh "PwnAlone" Pigue
Ben "ben1337" Smith
Jonathan "djay" Dallal
David "cynic" Polster
Jonathan "Jonji" Carey (stand-in)
Joseph "Muenster" Lima (coach)
