Farlig goes into free agency

The Danish AWPer is no longer tied to FunPlus Phoenix after nearly three months on the bench.

Asger "⁠Farlig⁠" Jensen has announced that he has been let out of his contract with FunPlus Phoenix and is now a free agent, adding that he is eager to find a new team where he can ply his trade.

Farlig is hungry and ready for a new beginning

The 22-year-old's exit puts an end to a year-long partnership with the Chinese organization, during which he and his teammates peaked in 14th place in the world rankings but failed to break into the top echelons of the game as they missed out on qualifying for the PGL Major, which ultimately ended in the squad being put on the bench and transfer-listed in November.

Farlig has ended his tenure in the international squad with a 1.07 rating, not fully reaching the potential seen in him when he broke out with Copenhagen Flames. He had shown flashes of brilliance with performances such as the one at ESL One: Road to Rio - Europe in 2020, when he ended the RMR event with a 1.22 rating across eight series in his team's 10th place finish, and will now be looking to find his best form once again in a new setup.

Apeks complete roster with STYKO

The Dane's release, alongside Martin "⁠STYKO⁠" Styk recently being announced by Apeks and Pavle "⁠Maden⁠" Bošković reportedly on his way to ENCE, would leave only Luka "⁠emi⁠" Vuković and Jesse "⁠zehN⁠" Linjala on FPX's bench since the Chinese organization discontinued the CS:GO division in late 2021.

there is dramatic difference between players' paychecks across the team like Astralis, I bet Bubber and Lucky get only a fraction of gla1ve's earnings and having them on the bench would not be a crazy burden for the org. I am not saying they should get farlig btw, just pointing out having 2 players on the bench is not something terrible in this case.

They entered a smaller tournament, I see no reason why they couldn't test him there. It's not like teams can't have 6 players on their payroll. Astralis still does, even without Farlig.

Also 6th man isn't banned, it's just that when u use a 6th man roster,there'll be a RMR points penalty.For context, apEX said this 'Unfortunately, the RMR points penalties for subbing in players forced the team to step back from the six-man lineup. Farlig is a better player overall, not only on his own but in terms of consistency. acoR had hunden holding his hand in mad lions, and an insane team to work around him.. look where they all are now apart from benchkji. The second acor lost that, he shit the bed. Farlig is that good even without an insane structure and skilled players. other way around. He looked promising in cph flames and not really that great in fpx. Kind of like ac0r as it seems that danish awpers who are familiar with a set structure and system have a hard time playing loosely in international english speaking rosters

It's probably better to get Nicodooz, than Farlig. But if CPHF is only getting sold as a roster, Astralis might try Farlig/Acor. Don't let their recent performances on international teams fool you. They are both beasts on a Danish roster.

CPHF will find it much more profitable ro sell the entire 5-stack. Selling 1 player alone is gonna hurt their overall prospects, so that makes sense. I just want gla1ve to get off the AWP and work a rifle/UMP like old times. It's a wastage of resources to have an aggressive IGL like gla1ve as the AWPer, when there strats centred with an AWPer like device. Acro in ML was amazing, he probably lost motivation in Mouz, because he literally started missing sitters. They are both benched/free agents. I guess they both should be trialed. Lucky would.be the one getting the boot it seems, cuz I don't see Xyp getting benched anytime soon.

What about this: Farlig to Astralis on a 6m/1year contract and Lucky on loan to MAD Lions to get experience. If Farlig delivers: nice. If he doesn't, Lucky will be playing a lot of tournaments and matches in T2. For example: During the entire last year Entropiq played the DOUBLE of rounds than NaVi/Gambit before getting into Top10.

6M? No way, but I understand the idea you're putting forth. I'd rather trial Farlig than Acor, if I had to choose between the two, as of now. Lucky was amazing in the Royal Arena, but somehow hasn't been able to replicate the performance since then. So yeah, he'll probably let go sooner or later. It's a terrible waste of resources and potential to have gla1ve on the AWP. I'm not sold on Xyp9x either, to be really honest, but I guess he's here to stay.

He was not as great as FPX hoped. That is for sure. Seems like a pattern, we have good player, he shines for a while in T2 and then he disappears in different T1 team. acoR kinda same. If astralis should try someone (and they really should, lucky won't gonna make it and glaive awping was good for lulz first two games), i would try this guy. OR, let device apologize publicly and save him from nip who could not even buy chawzyyy....

Farlig to Astralis does not solve anything really. Reason for that is that no one watch to anchor, gla1ve, blameF and k0nfig are all agro af, xyp is support and lucky as youngest player got to play a role no one wants to play. I don't agree with gla1ve's awping, I think he can do it on a decent level but I think team could be better with Lucky on the awp, gla1ve and k0nfig as an agro duo, blameF with lurky/anchor style and xyp support. Lucky's initial stats are not useful for anything, entire Astralis was bad and they didn't win like 2 matches. IIRC Lucky was their 2-nd top player during that time, they just sucked. Something tells me he can do it and that it would be 10x better than what we have now.
