ENCE round out lineup with Maden

The Finnish organization has finalized its roster ahead of the 2022 season.

ENCE have announced the signing of Montenegrian rifler Pavle "⁠Maden⁠" Bošković from FunPlus Phoenix. With the new signing, the international squad is hoping to take the next step forward after a promising stint in the Autumn of 2021.

The 23-year old comes in to replace Joonas "⁠doto⁠" Forss following the Finn's benching earlier in January, which ended a year-long partnership between the Finnish player and organization. This won't be the first time Maden plays under the ENCE banner, however, as he briefly stood in for Marco "⁠Snappi⁠" Pfeiffer during IEM Winter.

Maden returns to ENCE on a permanent basis

Maden will be back in action with ENCE after sitting on FunPlus Phoenix's bench since November, when the Chinese organization decided to discontinue its CS:GO division and transfer-listed its roster.

Despite an underwhelming year for FunPlus Phoenix, the young rifler was able to maintain a respectable 1.09 rating across 2021 and his performances helped the European squad secure three final appearances, most notably at DreamHack Open January 2021 Europe and Snow Sweet Snow 1, even stealing the trophy from Gambit in the latter.

With Maden now gone, only Luka "⁠emi⁠" Vuković and Jesse "⁠zehN⁠" Linjala remain contracted to the Chinese organization as both Martin "⁠STYKO⁠" Styk and Asger "⁠Farlig⁠" Jensen left FunPlus Phoenix in January.

"We are very excited to bring Maden into the team! We already had a brief encounter with him at IEM Winter and he left a good first impression," said ENCE coach Eetu "⁠sAw⁠" Saha, welcoming Maden's arrival. "Maden is a social and easy-going guy who gets along well with the team. Also, he brings in a lot of firepower and aggression, which can help elevate our play for the upcoming season," sAw continued.

"Rolewise, there will be some changes to make Maden comfortable and make the team function better."

ENCE's International project rose rapidly through the ranks last Autumn after strong showings at ESL Pro League Season 14 and IEM Fall, peaking at #7 in the world rankings. However, a series of disappointing finishes in the closing stages of the year saw them drop several steps on the ladder.

The new-look ENCE are set to debut at the play-ins for IEM Katowice 2022 starting on February 15.

Agreed. His highs have been very good but too often he misses one or two simple shots that even us regular folk could hit 99% of the time. Maden deserves a good team though, the guy's been pretty consistent despite not being on a world-beating team.

And why was he good at the beginning of ence? Because they played tier2 matches back then. In tier1 he has been inconsistent. I also noticed from the ingame cameras that he is always getting a bit frustrated if he doesnt perform that well. But hopefully he will perform better this year, best of luck.

Yeah he actually played really well in EPL season 14. He just has to be more consistent. And in LAN events he was pretty poor last year, 0.89 impact rating. Not a good thing to have an awper with that low impact rating but maybe he will step up. I hope they will do well with maden, but I just dont have the biggest expectations for Hades, sry.

This team has great firepower, but I fear that they lack a supportive core now. snappi will probably have to play a lot more of the bad roles.

Maden will probably entry instead of Snappi and Snappi will be the anchor/support.

Decent player, they for sure needed someone more to create space for the team, they only really had dycha for that and it didn't seem like it was enough. They will still need more changes if they want to be TOP 5-10 like they said, I think there is still a lot of mistakes that won't be fix with this change in the team and they are probably going to make more changes in the near future if their goals are really that high.
