ropz powers FaZe to victory over new-look Liquid

Nick "⁠nitr0⁠" Cannella was unable to celebrate his return to Counter-Strike with a victory.

FaZe successfully spoiled the debut of Liquid's new roster at BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2022, with new star signing Robin "⁠ropz⁠" Kool proving himself as the difference-maker in his first game with the European squad.

The 19-15 match on Inferno saw a North American comeback in the second half, with the impact from new signings Richard "⁠shox⁠" Papillon and Josh "⁠oSee⁠" Ohm proving crucial to keep the game competitive. It was, however, not enough and Liquid failed to close out the game, unable to put up a fight once it reached overtime.

ropz ended the game with a 34-18 K-D and a 1.60 rating

The match saw ropz hit the ground running, teaming up with Håvard "⁠rain⁠" Nygaard to push FaZe through a 2v5 situation on the opening pistol. The 22-year old would carry his great form through the whole game, ending overtime with a 1.60 rating, a 34-18 K-D, and an impressive 102.3 ADR.

Meanwhile, oSee had a quieter but still solid introduction. The young sniper joined Keith "⁠NAF⁠" Markovic and Jonathan "⁠EliGE⁠" Jablonowski in a quest to revive Liquid in the second half despite both shox and returning captain nitr0 lagging behind the pack in terms of numbers. The North American trio brought the game back on the T side, getting awfully close to claiming the game, eventually being forced into extra time before fading out without claiming a single round in overtime.

FaZe will join the new-look Vitality in the upper bracket of Group C at 17:30 while Liquid will face Evil Geniuses in the opening round of the lower bracket later in the day.

Great debut from ropz, he looks like one of the best players in the world again under karrigan and I'm really happy for that. This FaZe team needs more time, it was seenable in this match but I feel like if you give them this time this can be a championships contender team, and I hope for it. This Liquid team really didn't look good, some individual plays NAF and oSee made this that close, but overall they lacked firepower, they didn't seem to have any structure or strats, they looked kinda lost, I really don't buy into this Liquid roster and with EG also looking really dissapointing I feel like dark times are coming for NA CS.

Easy against liquid a team with a rusty nitro and an underperforming of shox with communications problems, the only ones who carried the team were elige and naf-fly, so, was that a huge victory for ropz? I don’t think so. What happened against vitality ropz adr = 55….. so bad, as always.
