ex-BLINK reunite and seek organization

The five players and coach that peaked at No. 23 in the world ranking in January have joined forces again after departing the Albanian organization.

Update (February 7th): ex-BLINK will compete under the tag Bad News Eagles.

The "Albanian Superteam" is back on track after a turbulent end to January. Just two weeks after reaching their highest ever HLTV ranking, Rigon "⁠rigoN⁠" Gashi and Sener "⁠SENER1⁠" Mahmuti parted ways with the organization, citing a breakdown of negotiations regarding contract renewals.

rigoN, SENER1 part ways with BLINK

The squad's future was put under question as Dionis "⁠sinnopsyy⁠" Budeci, Genc "⁠gxx-⁠" Kolgeci, and Flatron "⁠juanflatroo⁠" Halimi initially remained a part of BLINK, but the lineup has been reunited as the trio were released from their contracts early. The promising five players and their coach are now free agents looking for an organization to represent.

"Farewell to a beautiful and successful journey with many goals achieved and many golden memories," juanflatroo wrote on Twitter to announce the news. "On mutual consent, my contract will be terminated with BLINK. Thanks for the memories, looking forward to writing my new chapter."

BLINK had been on a steady rise since the addition of rigoN in August, securing wins over teams such as Entropiq, Copenhagen Flames, FORZE, and more. They reached the top 30 by November and got to the brink of top 20 after the winter break.

The team was also participating in the ESL Challenger League (formerly ESEA Premier), but whether the players or the organization will hold on to that spot remains to be seen. Regardless, Bad News Eagles is a hot prospect on the market as a lineup that can be acquired without buyouts shortly before a start of a new Major cycle.
