The Chinese squad joins Checkmate in the Asian Regional Major Ranking event.
TYLOO have qualified for the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 Asia RMR after going undefeated through the playoffs of the China Open Qualifier. The Chinese squad, which had recently seen the return of Hansel "BnTeT" Ferdinand as their in-game leader, did not drop a single map in the bracket, reaching the finals where they would sweep Steel Helmet 2-0.
Zhenghao "DANK1NG" Lv shined throughout the online event, topping the scoreboard at the end of the grand final and finishing the qualifiers as the highest-rated player with a 1.67 rating across the five maps for featured on HLTV.
The playoffs saw the teams face each other in a double-elimination, best-of-one bracket before a best-of-three final of which only the winner would earn qualification to the RMR. TYLOO came into the qualifiers as the highest-ranked Chinese team and demonstrated their status by riding the upper bracket all the way to the final, defeating After, WDNMD, and Invictus.
In the last match, they faced a Steel Helmet team featuring Ke "captainMo" Liu, previously a long-tenured player for TYLOO. BnTeT's squad quickly ran over their opponents on Mirage 16-2 before narrowly taking Overpass 16-14 to complete the clean sweep.
The Asia RMR event will host TYLOO as well as Mongolian squad Checkmate, and will be joined by two other teams from the Oceanic and Middle East Open Qualifiers. The latter will take place on Sunday 27 February, with the final being played at 22:15 while the former will be played on March 6.
