Pinnacle announce $100,000 Pinnacle Cup III
The marathon event returns for its third iteration, and will feature a total of 30 teams.
Pinnacle, the company also behind the Pinnacle Winter and Fall Series competitions, today announced that the $100,000 Pinnacle Cup would be returning in 2022 for its third edition; two previous Pinnacle Cups were hosted in 2021, with Gambit and Spirit emerging as the winners.
The event, which will award $80,000 to the winner, takes place across three separate stages. The first stage is a single elimination group stage where 12 teams will battle it out across four groups for a spot in the next stage; one berth for the second stage goes to the winner of each group.

The next portion of the event is a Swiss best-of-three stage where the four qualified teams will be joined by 12 directly invited teams to fight for one of eight playoff spots available.
The final leg of the tournament is a single elimination best-of-three playoff bracket, with the eight qualified teams playing a round of 16 before joining the final four invitees in the quarter-finals.
The invites for the first stage have also been announced, with a range of teams competing from academy squads to tier-two veterans; some of the standout names include the Bulgarians of SKADE, the brand new Coalesce roster, and the recently revamped MAD Lions squad.
The first stage kicks off on March 14 at 10:00 , with the first matchups yet to be revealed.
