WolfY takes break from CS:GO; benched in ECSTATIC

The organization is looking for a replacement for the American AWPer.

ECSTATIC have announced a change in their roster as their 23-year-old sniper Adam "⁠WolfY⁠" Andersson decided to take "a small break from competitive CS:GO".

Nexus player Adrian "⁠XELLOW⁠" Guță will step into the roster as a stand-in while ECSTATIC are looking for a replacement, the team ranked 24th in the world explained via Twitter on Sunday.

WolfY is taking a step back

The change comes after ECSTATIC's 5-6th finish in ESL Challenger League S40 and a second place in the Thunderpick Bitcoin Series, but most importantly follows an unsuccessful campaign to qualify for the Europe RMR, leaving them without a chance to qualify for the Major.

WolfY has posted a 1.09 rating in his time with ECSTATIC, being an important factor in the team's climb into the top 30, but suffered a slight dip from that level in in 2022. For the time being, his replacement will be the 21-year-old AWPer XELLOW, who is currently contracted to the most prominent Romanian team Nexus.

ECSTATIC will be using the following lineup:

i mean he is full player at Gamerlegion for some time, he's known in tier2-3 but Xellow refused all his offers and many times people on hltv were talking how good he is, he finnaly got out of his comfort zone in Nexus.

Maybe the role as stand-in instead of permanent convinced him to go to ecstatic. There's always a way back for him now. Next to that BFS is a great Igl to get him into comfort, where loads of t2 teams don't have a clear and consistent Igl.

valve events are not based on third party rankings. valve invites are purely based on performance on major circuit

well yeah my point was the RMR Open Qualifier format is a garbage shitshow that makes it so there is always a decent team that cant make it through the sewage that is multiple bo1 online matches.

if they were a decent team they would've beaten the dogshit teams in the bo1 online matches. there's no excuses to be made here, EU had 4 open qualifiers they could qual from, their failure is solely on them and not on the system.

Problem imo is that ecstatic have lack of default tactics and mostly anti strat teams, when they play loads of games on 1 day, sometimes rounds were looking random in the OQ because there wasnt a well setup plan after 4 bo1's. Next to that Fashr and Wolfy weren't consistent carrying the team in the open qualifiers. A bit unlucky sometimes as well getting t2/3 opponents really early.

they didnt make it to HLTV stage even once, they never deserved this major

#26 also did they fuck up that bad damn. Still tho purely on ranking and the teams they matchup and beat on a consistent basis the deserve a spot. ofc they fucked up so unlucky. There is always a good-decent squads that fuck up open qualifiers like those.

Only good teams who fucked up in qualifiers were k23 and Wisla. Ecstatic and Skade are shady teams who are only good at pinnacle cup with no anticheat

Yes? The change did infact come after they finished 5-6th in a tournament. Thats facts. But, thats not why they made this roster change. They made it becasue Wolfy wanted to take a small break. Idk how long his small break is but yeah.
