IHC upset Renegades to qualify for Antwerp

The Mongolian side become the first team from their country to qualify for a Major in CS:GO.

IHC completed their remarkable run through the Asia RMR by comfortably brushing aside Renegades 2-0, becoming the first team to qualify from the region for the Antwerp Major and the first Mongolian side to feature at a Major in CS:GO.

Not only has the run itself been impressive, with IHC defeating the two favourites TYLOO and Renegades 2-0, but also the manner in which the Mongolians have played, playing fundamentally sound Counter-Strike with a deep and varied playbook, both on T and CT.

This was demonstrated across both series, with IHC posting a monster 10-round T half on Mirage against TYLOO, before dominating Renegades with 12 CT rounds in the same map.

It wasn't all plain sailing for IHC as in their first game against TYLOO they were pushed all the way on both maps, taking Mirage 16-13 before needing overtime to take Ancient 19-16. Things were far more comfortable against Renegades, a 16-10 win on Inferno followed up with an absolute spanking on Mirage, 16-4.

Tengis "⁠sk0R⁠" Batjargal and Garidmagnai "⁠bLitz⁠" Byambasuren were the carry forces for their team, posting 1.34 and 1.31 ratings respectively across the RMR, but the entire squad contributed with impact across both series.

Renegades will now face off against TYLOO for the final Major spot available from the Asia RMR, with that game taking place at 14:00 .
