It's three in, three out as the Young Ninjas roster gets a shake up.

Linus "⁠LNZ⁠" Holtäng, Love "⁠phzy⁠" Smidebrant and Anton "⁠Sapec⁠" Palmgren have all been released from Young Ninjas it was announced today as the NIP organisation look to bring in fresh blood for their academy project.

Young Ninjas experienced some modest success with the aforementioned players on the lineup, the pinnacle being a
third place finish in the BLAST Rising 2021 event. Said placing also saw them rise to their peak world ranking, #35.

phzy achieved some very respectable results with the main roster

Ninjas in Pyjamas also made use of their academy project to bolster the ranks of the senior squad throughout this time, with both LNZ and more recently phzy getting game time with the main roster. The latter managed to place 2nd at IEM Winter and top four at ESL Pro League Season 15 during his tenure.

"The natural evolution is letting some of them get more experience elsewhere," NIP COO Jonas "⁠calc⁠" Gundersen said of releasing the three players.

Sapec already has found himself a new home, having played with Jesper "⁠JW⁠" Wecksell's Hellslayers roster since March.

Moving forward, Young Ninjas will be bringing in 17-year-olds Adam "⁠adamb⁠" Ångström and Max "⁠maxster⁠" Jansson and 15-year-old AWPer Adrian "⁠7EMPORARY⁠" Mehrara. "We believe this trio is very eager to ascend to its true potential," said Technical Director Björn "⁠THREAT⁠" Pers of the incoming youngsters.

how so? Its to make sure he's not stuck in the academy roster and gets a real, probably tier 2-3 tbh, roster and gets the opportunity to actually get good. Maybe olof does a godsent, that'll be cool tbh.

Hmm You're not wrong. weplay is a great place for people to get their names out, but the thing is lnz and phzy are relatively known now by anyone that watched nip games in the last year, so they can probably get an alright team. Hellslayers is not bad tho, flusha + jw gives a lot of branding and could help sapec get good enough to go t1

ztr was the igl of academy + co-call in main roster. IGl are more rare than regular players. Lnz was a pretty boring player. Nip gave him good/easy spots and he was doing nothing spectacular.

I really don't understand NiP's academy philosophy.

I mean, when they needed players they used them, nip is a complete roster already even without device, it's not like mouz where the team was so lackluster they could afford to bring permanently in both JDC and torszi. And those two are far superior to anyone in nip academy.

By that logic, LNZ, phzy, and ztr should be an incredible core with loads of experience to win all of these tournaments. If you consider that the goal of YN is to give life to the swedish scene it’s not that strange that they’re bringing in new players. Phzy is ready for T1-T2 in my opinion.

T2 for now i would say. Very inconsistent but can take over games. We have to keep in mind that NIP is a sick team, no matter the 5th as long as he is decent tbh. I mean they looked good with es3tag awping, just remember what happened with es3tag in c9 (not saying he was to blame)
