Snappi: "We may even be favorites if we go up against Heroic"
ENCE's in-game leader Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer took some time after he and his team defeated Copenhagen Flames in the PGL Major Anwerp's quarter-finals at the Sportpaleis to give his thoughts on the series.
Following a successful 3-1 run in the PGL Major Antwerp's Legends stage, ENCE have now kept their good run going in the playoffs, taking out Copenhagen Flames out 2-0 in the quarter-finals at the Sportpaleis.
The series kicked off on Vertigo, the Danish squad's map pick, one that ENCE weren't expecting but that they were still happy to play.
"We actually expected them to go for Overpass because we knew that they like Vertigo more," Snappi said in a post-match interview, "but we had three good wins in a row against NIP, Outsiders and Flames themselves. They surprised us a bit in the veto by picking Vertigo but we still got the job done."
A strong CT side on the opening map, which they took 12-3, was a boost for Snappi and his men not only to secure Flames' pick, but also to get the series rolling in their favor. "I feel like nobody had any nerves at all," the 31-year-old said. "Maybe people could have had more if we only got six CT rounds, maybe there would have been more pressure, but the good start made it so that we had a very nice start to the stage, everyone kind of got the feel of it in a good way and got a good experience. I think it kind of translated into the rest of the game."

ENCE will now be up against the winner of Natus Vincere and HEROIC, the two teams playing the fourth and last quarter-final in the bracket. "I think we may even be favorites if we go up against Heroic," Snappi said of the team ENCE beat 2-1 in the Legends stage, "but obviously NAVI, on this stage, they're really playing themselves into this Major."
Having met several Natus Vincere practicing in deathmatch, Snappi is aware of how hard they are working to pave their way through the bracket, but nothing is set in stone. "Heroic play NAVI pretty close," the in-game leader concluded, "we'll just watch the game and see who we face tomorrow."
