The young Brazilian joins the team to fill the gap left after Luca "⁠Luken⁠" Nadotti's departure.

9z have announced the addition of 17-year-old Lucas "⁠nqz⁠" Soares to their roster, completing their lineup after Luken departed the team shortly after the end of PGL Major Antwerp.

Luken becomes free agent after split with 9z

The new name arrives after the Argentine organization were unable to come to terms with 00NATION to buy out former member Santino "⁠try⁠" Rigal, who is now reported to be retained by the Norwegian team in their rebuild centered around Marcelo "⁠coldzera⁠" David and an influx of GODSENT members.

nqz has taken the step up to 9z

To fill the gap, 9z have instead looked to another young AWPing talent in nqz, who has averaged a 1.27 rating in the last three months while playing against domestic competition in Brazil with B4.

Whether he can retain that level against tougher opposition is yet to be seen, and a harsh test already awaits the newcomer as he will take on FURIA in his debut official match in 9z's opening game for the Roobet Cup, which will kick off on June 23.

Yes, he talked about on twitter some time ago. He was never an awper in the first place so he his stint in 9z was more of a test to see if he could awp permanently, which he couldn't.

Doesn’t matter, if you watch any of his streams playing FPL when he travels to Europe you’ll soon realize he has no issues communicating in English. He doesn’t need much more than that, and if he ever needs to learn anything, it’ll be no big deal since he already has the base.

yes but the calls were pretty shorts , in FPL it is enough but in a team not because always there will be times to call a alot , give an important and clear call , not just shorts calls like luken did it in fpl . im not talking trash about him , what i want to say is in a team , the language management that is use it there must be good. 7/10 minimo .

Not really, take a look at Broky in Faze, he barely speaks it. Or even, back in the day with s1mple when he was in Team Liquid. Ofc it's a necessity to speak English and be able to communicate, but it's not certainly the main requirement. The role that gets to speak the most is the IGL, and there's a difference between talking and understanding. Luken might speak a few words, might not be able to communicate as well as he does in his native language, that doesn't mean that he can't understand what other people are saying. So as long as he understands their teammates' calls and such, that can work. Indeed, when you're playing all you need to know are basic words, mainly just to call where the enemies are.

Good pickup, hes pretty much the brazilian try. He was a monster in Detona and he didnt lost that consistency for a year now. Dude was literally with 1.20 rating in every match back in the day and he keeps putting those numbers until today. Im rooting for you manito! Vamossss
