FURIA eliminate Outsiders, move on to Roobet Cup Group D decider match

The Brazilians will have a chance to get revenge against 9z for the final Group D playoff berth.

FURIA survive to fight another day in the Roobet Cup after defeating Outsiders in a 2-0 series that has put Dzhami "⁠Jame⁠" Ali and company out of contention in the $250,000 online tournament.

The Brazilians, who were stunned in the first round of play by 9z, will have a chance to take revenge on the South American team on Sunday after Franco "⁠dgt⁠" Garcia and company were sent to the Group D decider match by Andrey "⁠Jerry⁠" Mekhryakov’s FORZE.

The match between FURIA and Outsiders started off with Andrei "⁠arT⁠" Piovezan and company showing to be much more in shape on their rivals’ map pick of Inferno, where they were able to maintain composure to hit double digits at the half as CTs despite early pressure from the Russian squad doing a lot of economic damage in close pistol buys.

The second half was much more one-sided, with the Brazilians winning six out of seven rounds to seal the deal 16-6, going into their pick with very real chances of closing out the series in just two maps.

It appeared that Outsiders had woken up on Vertigo, where they won five rounds in a row out of the gate, but FURIA hit right back with five of their own before even going on to take the lead at the half on the attacking side, 8-7.

Having won the second pistol round and with Rafael "⁠saffee⁠" Costa, Yuri "⁠yuurih⁠" Santos and arT in full force, the Brazilian squad cruised to victory giving up just three rounds en route to a 16-10 final score to secure a spot in the playoffs.
