HAVU announce ottoNd benching

The Finn's second stint with the squad has come to an end.

HAVU have moved Otto "⁠ottoNd⁠" Sihvo to the inactive roster, the Finnish organization announced on Twitter. The 24-year-old AWPer will remain on the bench until the expiration of his contract on July 31, when he will become a free agent.

This is the latest of several changes that HAVU have enacted in recent months following a rough first half of the year for the Finnish squad. The restructuring began in May as Taneli "⁠disturbed⁠" Veikkola stepped down from the coaching position, and long-standing member Olli "⁠sLowi⁠" Pitkänen was benched in late June.

ottoNd joins sLowi on the bench of HAVU

ottoNd originally crossed paths with the organization in 2017, spending more than a year with the squad before joining Valiance in November 2018. He returned in January of 2022 as the team looked to fill the vacant AWPer spot left by Lasse "⁠ZOREE⁠" Uronen.

The Finnish sniper accumulated a 1.14 rating during the last six months while competing in various online events and qualifiers. Unfortunately for the squad, they could not take any silverware home this year, with their highest placement coming from Elisa Open Finland Season 1, where they finished in second place behind KOVA.

sLowi benched in HAVU, set to join free agency in August

"We would like to thank ottoNd for his time in HAVU. Unfortunately, the pieces just didn't fit together this time and we are rebuilding the core of the team. The final lineup will be announced in the coming weeks," explained Lasse Salminen, CEO of HAVU.

People here in comments clearly have no clue about HAVU. HAVU is the type of team that should be fighting for HLTV TOP30 spot and making deep runs in Closed Qualifiers etc for big events. Of course they are gonna make massive changes when their barely TOP30 In Finland. They pay big money for the players, grinding some Elisa Open cups isn't gonna keep the Org's balance positive. They need to get back to TOP30 or their gonna disband.
