malbsMd returns to TeamOne

The Guatemalan rifler will play his first match back under the gold-and-white in the IEM Rio Major South America open qualifier.

Mario "⁠malbsMd⁠" Samayoa has joined TeamOne after a lengthy period of negotiations with 00NATION came to an amicable end, enabling the 19-year-old's return to the organization whose banner he spent nearly two years under from 2020 to 2022.

malbsMd has been on the sidelines since he was benched by 00NATION in June to make way for the signing of a trio of GODSENT players. Although he averaged a respectable 1.09 rating under Marcelo "⁠coldzera⁠" David's leadership, the team were unable to achieve much of substance, often exiting tournaments in early stages and failing to qualify for PGL Major Antwerp following a 12-14th place finish at the Americas RMR.

His return to TeamOne reunites him with a number of familiar faces, with the team also having recently re-signed former members Victor "⁠iDk⁠" Torraca and Alencar "⁠trk⁠" Rossato. The Guatemalan fills the spot left vacant by Enzo "⁠xns⁠" Henrique's benching in June, adding some much needed firepower to a squad of mostly older names.

TeamOne are currently signed up to compete in the first IEM Rio Major South America open qualifier, which kicks off on Monday and awards three spots at the Americas RMR that will take place from October 4-9.
