The Danish organization with four Major wins avoided disaster in the last qualifier.

Four spots for the Europe RMR have been filled after the second day of the fourth and final open qualifier, with Astralis, SAW, 1win, and HEET advancing to the event.

The two last spots for the European qualifiers for the IEM Rio Major will be up for grabs on Sunday, in the 5-6th place decider matches. Winners of Illuminar - Benched Heroes and Forward - GamerLegion will take the final spots and finalize the Europe RMR team list .

Astralis' qualifying campaign was followed with the most interest as the squad ranked no. 4 in the world crashed out of the first three qualifiers, but Lukas "⁠gla1ve⁠" Rossander and co. ultimately made it through in what was their last chance. After surviving the firs day, they got revenge on los kogutos, who eliminated them in the previous qualifier, and then took down BLUEJAYS and Illuminar to get the job done.

The Danes have therefore ended a long day that started with a loss to OG at BLAST, and will have one more chance to qualify for the BLAST Premier Fall Final on Sunday when they face FaZe. Making it to the RMR also means that Andreas "⁠Xyp9x⁠" Højsleth has a chance to continue his streak of attending every Major since the release of CS:GO.

Among other teams that qualified for the RMR are 1win, featuring promising AWPer Denis "⁠deko⁠" Zhukov and former NAVI man Egor "⁠flamie⁠" Vasilyev, Portuguese side SAW that was on the brink of qualifying for the PGL Antwerp Major, and HEET who recently signed Audric "⁠JACKZ⁠" Jug.

Many notable teams are already out of the running for the IEM Rio Major, though. Movistar Riders and Copenhagen Flames were eliminated on the first day of the qualifier, while Apeks and Entropiq crashed out on the second one. Find all of the results of the Ro32 on our Event page.

Yeah but an Astralis slump might be funny but i'd rather have them at a RMR knowing they can, maybe, get back to another level, than a random team qualifying after a heater on BO1 online games, and not being able to do as well vs Vitality, FaZe, NaVi and co.

So EZ for Astralis , never had any doubt . EU scene so bad , Astralis facing no competition to qualify for the RMRs , no hidden talents or upsets , really worrying for future of CS . Great by Konfig , top fragging all the way through . Turned into an absolute consistent beast since joining the team !

Kinda disappointed that the last 2 qualifying spots aren't played on a double elimination bracket which would give all 4 teams an equal great chance of facing each other still in the running .

lol @ astralis BARELY making it to the majors... they lost to teams that arent even top 200 3 matches in a row... they need to make some changes or they are doomed, kick that dumb coach of theirs first. they will be eliminated in the first round, regardless who they play against in RIO... good bye astralis, back to being a tier 3+ team again.
