HenryG returns for ESL Pro League after two-year hiatus

The British commentator will be back behind the microphone during ESL Pro League Season 16.

After teasing a surprise addition to the ESL Pro League on-air crew list, the organizers have revealed that Henry "⁠HenryG⁠" Greer will make a return to live commentary during the month-long event.

Well known for his popular pairing with Matthew "⁠Sadokist⁠" Trivett and catchphrases such as "What a blunder!" and "Why's he done that?", the Brit last commentated on a regular basis in 2020.

He decided to retire from his on-air role in September of that year, a decision that he said was hastened by sexual abuse allegations made against him a few months prior.

In his time away from the microphone, HenryG was most notably in charge of the Cloud9 team nicknamed the 'Colossus' as its General Manager, a project that was discontinued after six months of middling results, with the American organization putting its CS:GO division on hold at the time.

Since his departure from Cloud9 the player-turned-commentator has been out of the game, only briefly appearing as a guest caster in cs_summit 7 in April 2021 before entering the world of NFTs.

HenryG now returns for ESL Pro League Season 16 to pair up with Chad "⁠SPUNJ⁠" Burchill, whose usual duo partner, Alex "⁠Machine⁠" Richardson, is not part of the on-air talent for the event.
